• Anchorage - The journey begins in Anchorage, heading towards Hatcher Pass. This scenic drive through the mountains reaches an elevation of nearly 4,000 feet and typically takes about 2 hours. Along the way, the Operator will share insights about Alaska’s history and industries.
• Hatcher Pass - Hatcher Pass, once a bustling gold mine and community from the turn of the century, is surrounded by majestic mountains and expansive skies. Here, participants will watch for auroras and set up their cameras. The high elevation of Hatcher Pass offers some of the best opportunities to witness the Northern Lights.
• Anchorage - After hopefully experiencing the auroras and capturing stunning photos, the group will return to Anchorage.

The operator, a local guide and award-winning photographer, utilizes professional aurora-tracking tools and real-time weather data to maximize your opportunity to witness the Northern Lights. If conditions are not ideal, the operator will inform you ahead of time and provide the option to cancel. The operator will assist you in capturing breathtaking photos with your phone or camera and will share valuable insights about Alaska’s landscapes, history, and wildlife during the aurora expedition.
