Well worth your time to learn about Alaska and its native peoples and culture - Beautiful area with knowledgeable tour guides. We spent more than 3 hours and could have stayed longer. This is a must do when in Anchorage!

Expensive but great experience! - It was definitely the most expensive "museum" entrance we have visited between Anchorage and Fairbanks areas, but it was still quite a great experience considering the $30 USD per person. Lots of art (including nice gift shop), there is activities at various times on the stage (we attended the games/exercises one - was pretty cool to see how native tribes stayed in shape to be able to hunt and survive), and my fav part was the outside walk where you get to visit houses/dwelling units of different regions (inside each there was a person that was happy to share info/answer questions) - very cozy, very different and fascinating! Lastly, we visited the other exhibition room (Hall of Cultures) where you can further learn and admire plenty on the Native Alaskan tribes and their traditions/culture - if you are a sucker for "local" stuff you will love it, as I did! I am attaching here the picture of the daily schedule so you can perhaps plan for what you want to attend live on the main scene (the Gathering Place) and the map. Pricey, but worth every penny! Just wish the souvenirs were a bit more affordable :)

Great experience. - Pretty cool to look around by yourself if you want to. I did everything solo and really enjoyed it but there were a bunch of groups here. Really appreciate all the descriptions everywhere. Spent about 2 hours here, but could’ve spent more. I had to pause a lot at their museum type section because there was a lot of heavy content covered. I appreciated being able to reflect on the alaskan native history here.

So Many Thing to See - So much Culture! - The Alaska Native Heritage Center had so many things to see, like song and dance demonstrations, cultural sports activities, and native houses from all over Alaska. Our tour guide, Jackson, was so knowledgeable, friendly, and so nice. He knew his stuff! He took us on a tour of all the different native houses and explained the Alaskan way of life from all over Alaska. He made the tour so interesting; he personalized it for us, and he included tidbits of his own life as an Alaskan.

Certainly worth going to! - So, so good-a lot better and far more interesting than I had expected. The free shuttle bus which we hopped on outside the Tourist Information Log Cabin runs every hour and was a very efficient way to get there. The guided tour to each lodging was informative and very enjoyable. The Theatre experience was great, the stage shows provided a huge amount of information and the static displays great. Certainly worth a visit.

An unexpected and delightful surprise! - I was on a RCCL cruise tour and bored out of my mind with the long rides and constant stops for Walmart, or smokers. I usually don't really like museums so I was preparing to just wander about. Well I was pleasantly surprised at how interesting everything was! I learned so much both good and not so good. Everyone there either staff or volunteers were so nice and informative. I really enjoyed myself and was dreading another long dull bus ride but kept myself entertained by looking up information that I had learned at the center.
