This tour will transport you there, with your guide explaining the mythology surrounding Troy, as well as the history and findings from archaeological excavations, starting with Heinrich Schliemann’s discovery in the 1870s up to today.

Nine cities have been unearthed, built one atop the other, dating back to before 3500 BC. The city made famous by Homer in “The Iliad,” describing the ten-year war, is just one of these layered settlements.

Opened in 2018, the museum showcases artifacts excavated around the Troas region. Among the exhibits are sarcophagi, marble, altars, inscriptions, sculptures, Paleolithic axes, terracotta ceramics, cutting tools, various weapons, gold objects, bone items, coins, glass bracelets, scent bottles, tear bottles, and sculptures.

• Dardanelles Strait - Before boarding the ferry to cross from Asia to Europe, take a look at the Trojan Horse from the famous “Troy” movie, located in the city center of Canakkale. Then, enjoy a short ferry ride to the Gallipoli peninsula by crossing the Dardanelles.
