There’s no need for prior experience to participate in this kayak adventure, expertly led by professionals. Bowman Bay presents an ideal setting for novices to get a taste of sea kayaking, with its breathtaking landscapes and abundant wildlife. While the tour takes place in Deception Pass State Park, we specifically avoid the rough waters near the bridge, which are more appropriate for highly skilled kayakers. Don’t pass up this exceptional chance to view Deception Pass State Park through the distinct viewpoint of a sea kayak if you’re planning a visit!
- Not recommended for children under 3 years of age. Please call if you have questions.
- Not recommended for people exceeding 265 pounds.
- Not recommended for people taller than about 6’5”. Call if you have questions.
- PLEASE CALL US AFTER BOOKING. Due to the nature of booking on a third-party site, and our small group size, we highly recommend giving us a quick call after you book to make sure that your preferred departure time works for you. During the busiest days we often run full. In the unlikely event that your preferred trip is already full then we will definitely get you out on a trip leaving at a similar time. We just don’t want to cause you any disappointment. Thank you!

Drive down Bowman Bay Road to the stop sign at the bottom of the hill. Take a left. As you enter the large parking area you will notice our kayak shed under the trees on the East side of the parking lot. Park where you like and come meet us!

- 10/10, do it! alone or with loved ones! our tour guide was amazing and so informative. recommend it to everyone! it was nearly 2 hours long, we saw seals and jellyfish! even got to try some seaweed.

- This was a fabulous way to show our out of town guests the spectacular views of Anacortes! The tour guides were wonderful and informative and everyone had a great time!!!

Great trip for visitors ❤️ - We’ve enjoyed many trips with AKT over the years, and it never disappoints. We had family in from out of town so naturally a shorter tour was the way to go. The wildlife was showing off for us and our guests were thrilled to see oysters catchers, a bald eagle, and lots of kelp and jellyfish. AKT guides are the best! Kind, funny, knowledgeable and reassuring. What a great trip!

Don’t miss this tour!!! - Emma was the best guide we’ve ever had and we take a lot of tours. She has a deep knowledge of the sea and its creatures, and the ability to teach about it to visitors in a joyful way:-). We had a wonderful adventure and felt like we were in competent hands.

Beautiful morning kayak! - We had an awesome time kayaking with Jeff (I am 99% sure that is his name--so sorry if I got it wrong I don't have the business card with me)! He was super knowledgable, kind, and patient with us! Beautiful views, we even saw a porpoise! Very special and peaceful morning on the water

Lovely experience - Had a great time on this kayak trip, our guide was knowledgeable and we got to see a lot of wildlife. Great way to explore Deception Pass. Would definitely recommend!

Fun Tour with a Great Guide Jeff - We had a great time on our kayak tour. Jeff was so great, he was kind and engaging with all of the participants. He took extra time with some of the less experienced kayakers. We had a nice calm tour on the water and Jeff was sure to point out all the things of interest. We even got a visit from some dolphins which was an added treat. Thanks Jeff :)

The night glowed from beginning to end, literally! - Took the bioluminescence Tour, you paddle out of the bay to catch the sunset, watch porpoise feed in the outgoing tide, and wait for dark. Once the sun goes down, back into the bay and start splashing around to light up the bioluminescence algae. You feel like a kid splashing in the bathtub :) It's a little eerie but also peaceful being out in the ocean at night on a kayak but they have the system down. Everyone wears glow lights which is fun to see dancing across the water. The guides were fantastic, very informative, and easy to work with. Already planning a group for next year.

great value, fun adventure! - Megan helped find someone to join me in the kayak as they only go in double kayaks for this particular trip. Cora was an excellent guide. The scenery was beautiful - a great introduction to the Deception Pass area1
