Great Tour with Tijs! - My beloved and I had a spectacular time on our tour with Tijs. We both agree it was our highlight of an already amazing first trip to Amsterdam. His passion for Dutch history is palpable, and you can't help but get excited along with him. He had answers for each of our questions and went to considerable lengths to tailor the tour to our preferences I would enthusiastically recommend taking this tour to anyone visiting the city.

Highly recommendable. Very pleasant guide. Tour Loaded with insights you will very unlikely hear anywhere else - We had a wonderful tour on the financial history of Amsterdam with Tijs as part of a student excursion. He is a very pleasant and knowledgeable guide who took us to many different places around the city. Many of the sites and stories he shared were real hidden gems—things you would never come across in a standard guidebook or on a typical tour. Tijs clearly has many years of experience and has built up an impressive amount of insider knowledge, which he enjoys sharing with great enthusiasm. I felt genuinely enriched after the tour, leaving with new insights, historical knowledge, and plenty of fun facts to think about. The tour is quite long and involves a fair amount of walking, and by the end most of us were rather exhausted—while Tijs still seemed as fresh and energetic as at the start. All in all, a highly recommendable tour that we enjoyed very much.

Fascinating historical tour highlighting the beginning of the World’s first stock market and much more. - My husband is a history and finance major. Having been to Amsterdam a few times we were excited to find this Financial History. Edgar was so interesting, detailing the history of finance including all the political history of the Netherlands. We would highly recommend him. Check out his other tours too.

Great tour - This was a really great tour. The topic is rich, and I would say, very under appreciated. Edgar, the tour guide, did a wonderful job shedding light on very interesting topics and threads. Not least, just how much of the modern world took shape here in Amsterdam. As an American and a person who lived in New York, the connections are many and illuminating but surely there is plenty here for anyone.

Super fascinating financial tour of Amsterdam - Really interesting tour, with lots of history and fabulous insights into why Amsterdam was the biggest financial centre in the world in its prime. But even beyond that period, learn about the 2nd biggest gold heist in history, learn about why the mayors of amsterdam live in the house they live in, see the building the first equity share ever was issued, and lots more.

Step into the World of Old Amsterdam - The tour is a must for financial and banking aficionados and everyone who would like to step into the world of the origins of free trade, stock exchange, capitalism, royalty, religious wars, futures and the Tulip bubble, and Amsterdam's culture. The guide was able to answer my questions and relate to my interests. He also took some marvelous pictures and showed me illustrations of how Amsterdam was centuries ago to bring his stories to life. Wonderful pacing and engaging conversations!
