A different walking tour to the norm! - This was a great walking tour - something different from the ordinary given it included chat sessions with two really interesting Amsterdam locals and also covered less mainstream aspects of life in Amsterdam (e.g. "coffee shop" culture, red light district etc). Our guide, Alexandra's passion for all things Amsterdam was infectious - she was lovely and upbeat. Such an enjoyable experience!

True overview of life in Amsterdam - Alex has assembled a fantastic tour that gives you not only the highlights of Amsterdam’s beautiful buildings, but also a real understanding of the Dutch people, their history, and why they live the way they do. Even though our tour was abbreviated due to a cancellation, it still felt full and memorable. Honestly the 2 1/2 hours was perfect from the jet lag we experienced flying in that morning. We visited a Secret Garden, saw the famous dancing houses, saw and toured a famous coffee shop, met Ari — a true Dutch character — and finished with the best apple pie I’ve ever had. Alex’s knowledge, storytelling, and personality made this one of the highlights of our trip. Highly recommend!

An Authentic Amsterdan Experience - My husband and I highly recommend this tour in Amsterdam. Our wonderful guide, Pete, revealed the inner beauty of Amsterdam that allowed us to meet/chat with amazing locals that enhance our cultural experience in this beautiful city. We also enjoyed some delicious apple pie along the way, which made the experience even more memorable.

A perfect introduction to a place and its people - Hands down, this is the best welcome-to-our-city tour we have ever had. Alex and the Humans of Amsterdam Cultural Walking Tour is worth every minute and every euro. She does not just show you sites along the main tourist routes and recite bits of guide history. You actually experience the streets, the shops, the stories and some of the people who are Amsterdam. She brings you inside the stories, actually, and crazy fun things happen along the way. Unforgettable. Oh, and her recommendations for other places to go and things to during your visit are SO on target. 100% recommend! Thank you, Alexandra -- we fell in love with your city, too.

Authentic, fun, unique tour experience - Dear Alex, Thank you for sharing your wonderful city with us through your own unique lens. From the moment we met you we felt welcomed and knew this tour would be an authentic and fun experience. It was truly special to have met the locals (Cara, Sunny, and surprise guest Ari) and visited businesses whose stories have added such personal depth to the city that we otherwise would never have experienced. We hope to visit Amsterdam again and highly recommend this tour to everyone who is open to such a unique, warm, and personal experience.

MUST DO!! - Truly the most incredible tour. It was an authentic walking tour around the city. We learned so many facts from history, laws to the best place to eat. Alex made everything personable so we could connect with the city, her and our group. I wish I could rate this higher because it was truly incredible. Nothing like the iconic boring walking tours. We laughed, drank, ate, walked and connected. If you do anything in Amsterdam, it should be this!!

Best walking tour ever. DO NOT MISS THIS! - This tour ended up being the number one highlight of my entire trip! Alexandra was incredible. She was thoughtful, kind, and deeply authentic. At the beginning of the tour she shared the story behind why she started Humans of Amsterdam, and it honestly brought a tear to my eye. You can feel how much heart went into creating this experience. What makes this tour special is the perspective. Instead of seeing Amsterdam only through buildings and landmarks, you see it through the lives and stories of the people who live there and interact with the locals. It completely changed how I experienced the city. The conversations were real, moving, and at times very powerful. It felt personal in a way that most tours never achieve. If you are visiting Amsterdam, do not miss this tour. I cannot recommend it enough!! Thank you Alexandra!

Unique tour - This tour is an easy walk, but there are two 90 minute periods of walking and standing. There were only nine people in the group which made for a more fulfilling experience. This was the most interesting city tour we have ever taken. Meeting and hearing from local residents really opened the city up in a different way. Aryeh is a knowledgeable guide and storyteller who presented a balanced picture of the history and culture of Amsterdam.

Great tour! Fun and informative. - The Humans of Amsterdam tour did a lot to flesh out my understanding of Amsterdam from it's beginnings into the present day. My wife and my adult child had fun meeting some of the locals as well as people from three other countries taking the tour. Our guide, Aryeh, was a great story teller! He did a superb job guiding us safely through the streets and helping us to have brief conversations with the locals. We stopped at a "brown pub" (historical significance) and enjoyed some excellent apple pie. Aryeh did a professional job introducing the red light district which delivered good insights as to the realities of the area. In the end, we received a much more nuanced view of this storied city. We'll done!
