• Gobindgarh Fort - Situated in the heart of Amritsar, Punjab, Gobindgarh Fort is a historic landmark. Previously occupied by the military, it has been accessible to the public since February 10, 2017. The fort is being transformed into a distinctive live museum, preserving the rich history of Punjab.
• Golden Temple - Known as Harmandir or Darbar Sahib, this stunning white and gold temple was founded by the Muslim saint Mian Mir, a friend and admirer of Guru Arjun. Constructed on a 67-foot square marble base, the temple is a two-story structure with its upper part adorned in pure gold leaf, earning it the name Golden Temple. Inside, the sacred Sikh scripture, the Granth Sahib, is housed during the day and moved to the Akal Takht, or Eternal Throne, at night. The temple’s spiritual centerpiece is the Amrit Sarovar, a tank surrounding the gleaming central shrine, believed to have healing properties. Amritsar derives its name from this tank, which was excavated in 1577 by the fourth Sikh guru, Guru Ram Das. Surrounded by marble steps, the tank is thought to cure various ailments. Near the eastern entrance, ‘Guru Ka Langar’ offers meals to all visitors. Visitors must remove their shoes and cover their heads before entering the temple. The temple’s free kitchen and continuous recitation of divine words are ever-present. Located centrally in Amritsar, its four gates welcome people from all directions, exuding a peaceful and calming aura.
