A must do in your life if you're religious. - The driver was lovely and messaged me before the trip to agree pick up times and what vehicle we needed. The tour itself at the site stated 2-3hrs. It was a quiet day with only maybe 30 people, so their guide seemed to rush us around and didnt really give much explanation on anything we saw. We did the tour in 90mins. You go to visitor centre, take a shuttle to the site, where you see the baptism site - which was being washed at the time- they wash it all down daily. ( this disappointed me for some reason) then you see remains of St John's the babtist church. You then pass the not so old Orthadox church to the t River Jordan, where you can get babtised. (I don't recommend this unless you had all your travel shots recently) the River is only a few metres wide, which isreal on the other bank. The water is very dirty. Armed guards on each bank sit discreetly to the side. There is however a lovely stone font by the river edge, with cleaner blessed water, so that's a far safer way to be baptised. You are allowed to fill a small bottle to take some away with you. The visit was still worth it, just remember why you came, it does feel very strange there and you cme away feeling 'better' somehow. It's really a must, just to see what you feel there and to see where Jesus was babtised by John. There is a little museum - through the gift shop. Thats worth looking at. There are toilets at visitors centre and near the baptism site, so take water with you as it can get very warm there. We went on 7th Oct 2025. It reached 30oC by 11am.

- Last minute booking with Zaid to the Baptism site in the morning, who also accommodated a change of destinations, adding a trip to the Ma’in Hot Springs in the afternoon. Car was comfortable and clean and air conditioned, wifi was available.

Great tour! - It was amazing to see the authentic baptism sight of Jesus Christ my Lord and Savior. I was blessed with a very charismatic and amazingly friendly driver, Zaid, who offered not only complimentary water but also was kind enough to buy me chocolate at the store on the way to the baptismal site. The ride was very comfortable and he is a very skilled driver and great conversationalist. I would give Zaid 10 stars if it were possible because I not only got a ride to the tour and I ride back to my hotel, but I also made a friend in the process. I also want to mention the very knowledgeable and informative tour guide and the opportunity to dip in the Jordan river made this an incredibly memorable experience for me.

It's a nice place - It was a great, short trip to where Jesus was baptized. You're dropped off at a minibus stop where you're taken to the river Jordan. It's rather small these days but there are a few structures on it you can see and you can be baptized in it if that's your thing. Our driver Zaid was a good conversationalist as well.

Jordan River/Baptism Site Trip - I want to thank my driver Zaid for being good company during the drive there and back. I would have liked to spend longer at the Jordan River but it was still a good excursion.
