• King Abdullah Mosque - The King Abdullah I Mosque, with its striking blue dome, was constructed in the 1980s by the late King Hussein as a tribute to his grandfather. It welcomes non-Muslim visitors. The mosque’s nave spans 1,615 m2 and can accommodate 3,000 worshippers. Its octagonal design is notable for the absence of interior pillars. The dome, 35 meters in diameter and 31 meters high, features a radiant golden star at its center, surrounded by the Ninety-Nine Most Beautiful Names of Allah. A chandelier with 168 lanterns, arranged in three circles, displays Quranic verses with the word Allah on each lantern. The red carpet, adorned with intricate patterns, guides worshippers towards the Kiblah. The walls, including the Kiblah, pulpit, and Mihrab, are adorned with wooden and marble panels.
• The Citadel - Jabal al-Qala, one of Amman’s seven hills, has been a seat of power since the Ammonian era, followed by Greek, Roman, and Byzantine rule, until the Islamic conquest in the 7th century AD, when the Umayyad Palace was constructed. It became the capital of the Ammonians.
• Roman Theatre - The Roman Amphitheatre, located in eastern Amman at the base of Mount Jufa, is a historic site. Greek inscriptions on a pillar indicate it was built to honor Emperor Antonius Pius, who visited Amman in 130 AD.
• Al Balad – Downtown Amman - Explore the historic city center and visit the AL-Husseini Mosque.
• The Jordan Museum - Situated in the vibrant new downtown of Ras al-‘Ayn, The Jordan Museum showcases Jordan’s history and cultural heritage through beautifully curated galleries. It serves as a national hub for learning, reflecting Jordan’s past, present, and future through its historic and cultural exhibits.
• Royal Automobile Museum - Ideal for history and car enthusiasts, this museum houses a collection of cars and motorbikes owned by King Abdullah I, King Talal, and King Hussein of Jordan. It chronicles history from 1916 to the present, featuring rare classic vehicles linked to the royal family. The museum offers electronic narration in Arabic, English, Spanish, French, and German, with a special narration for children in Arabic.
