It was such an interesting tour and our bus driver was very knowledgeable. I would do it again
Our friendly tour director, Daniel Nisly, was a perfect tour leader. He was an Amish himself until he was 25 and is well-versed in the local area. The route was very interesting. The Amish schools, the telephone, the farms, the country store, and the wonderful crafts etc., made for a memorable trip for our California group with ages 10 to 72!
Very informative, saw a lot about life in area. Guide was excellent.
Friendly tour guide. And very knowledgeable about the area and it’s people. Highly recommend this tour.
Our tour guide was friendly and knowledgeable. I enjoyed the stops along the tour, especially the wood shop and the bakery. And everyone we interacted with was kind.
The tour was great and lot's of good information shared. The stops were very interesting! I would definitely recommend this tour to others.
Interesting and fun. Different from other parts of the US. Nice guide (Daniel), and the store owners gave good information too.
Our guide was so wonderful. We learned so much and enjoyed his personal insight as a life-Long resident of the area. We especially appreciated the individualized service, adjusting the route based on requests, taking us to places we hadn’t been yet. We would definitely recommend the tour and expect to be back when we have more visitors. Thank you!!
The staff was helpful in answering our questions and allowing us to take an earlier bus tour than the one we signed up for.
Dan did a great job.
The tour guide was informative and entertaining. The stops were interesting.
Our tour guide was knowledgeable, friendly, and honored people's time commitments.
We enjoyed seeing the Amish farms, schools, businesses and phone "booths".Our driver was very informative and answered lots of our questions. The stops were interesting and we were not hurried so we were able to make desired purchases. It was raining and our driver parked at the doorways so we're didn't get drenched!

Jim was great. We learned a lot. Every stop was worth a return trip.
Tour was great! Driver was very knowledgeable and friendly.
I would highly recommend the Kalona ByWays Mini-Bus Tour to others traveling in the area. We were running very late, due to a doctor's appointment. We were still able to do the tour with a wonderful guide named John. Thank you!
Our driver was very friendly and personable. He made the tour very interesting, and he was very knowledgeable. I would recommend this tour to anyone.
Very, very interesting, fact-filled tour of the Amish By-ways. I can think of no other way to have learned so much, and to have actually seen working farms and how the Amish live their lives. I would have driven right past everything without even knowing what I was seeing. Very good value, and really appreciate the stop at the bakery: I think that's the best strawberry-rhubarb pie I've ever eaten IN MY LIFE. PS: PLEASE PLEASE get someone in your office to create a Tripadvisor listing for this tour, as well as the Amish dinner tours. Otherwise, it is extremely difficult to find out that this tour exists.
Very personalized, comfortable. Good pace.
Pretty much everything about it! We really enjoyed the local guide - he obviously knew his way around the backroads and was very familiar with the families and their histories. His own family's story of Amish to Mennonite transition was interesting, plus the anecdotes about his grandfather(s). We were pleasantly surprised that the tour made several stops at businesses - we enjoyed buying something local or getting ideas for future purchases at each stop. And then scenery was wonderful. Thanks again for a fun experience close to home.
