Great day out with Antonio! - We have just returned from a wonderful full day private tour of the Algarve with Antonio (Frontera Off Road Tours). Antonio was very friendly and knowledgeable and he went above and beyond what we expected to make our trip very memorable. 10 out of 10: would tour with again - Deeply skilled and knowledgeable guide, with a great attitude and absolutely packed agenda. We went from an awesome and absolutely authentic fishing village to start, all the way to the highest point in the region, all in a day.
There are some rough, but safe roads, including many twists and turns through tiny roads in ancient towns, so if you get car sick easily you should take your meds first.
The top of the mountain is windy, and cold enough that they sell sweaters, so pack an extra layer just in case.

Enjoyable - Really enjoyable day out. Antonio knew a lot of history and facts about the area and we learnt things we never knew despite visiting for several years. The lunch was delicious and everyone was very friendly. Would recommend to anyone who would like to see more of the area.

Best Experience in Alvor – Thanks to Antonio” - We had an incredible experience with Frontera Off Road Tours and Trips, and the biggest reason for that was our guide, Antonio. His knowledge of the Algarve, his passion for what he does, and his excellent navigation skills made the whole trip unforgettable.
In the seven times I’ve visited Alvor, this tour stands out as a true highlight. Antonio not only showed us the hidden beauty of the region but also made the journey fun, informative, and exciting. A particular highlight was visiting the Portimão International Racetrack circuit—something I’ll never forget!
If you’re visiting the Algarve and want a unique experience, I can’t recommend this tour enough. And if you’re lucky enough to have Antonio as your guide, you’re in for a fantastic adventure.

Algarve in its full glory - Great day out seeing Algarve in all its forms from the sea to the mountains. Antonio our guide was great and explained everything in detail. Very knowledgeable about history and geography of Algarve. Highly recommended for a day out. Lunch was nice. We were picked up from our resort even though it wasn’t listed on the pickup list. Thank you for a wonderful day Antonio!

Absolutely amazing trip - Absolutely fantastic trip from start to finish. Our tour guide was Nunu and we couldn’t have asked for a better tour guide he was so knowledgeable and made the trip really memorable. I can’t falter Nunu at all, definitely recommend.

Superb day - We had a great day with Arthur. He is passionate and exciting. He walked us on small roads, explained life, the history of the different places we passed. Lots of anecdotes, humor finally a getaway not to be missed!

Wonderfully day trip around the Algarve - We was driven around by Artur who was a very skilled driver and knowledgeable tour guide. We were picked up from our hotel and driven around all the best sights along the coast. Artur was very funny in his tales and gave us a small insight into life in Portugal. We drove up into the mountains and had the best panaramic views. Lunch was included in the trip and we ate freshly cooked fish in a quaint restaurant. Later in the day we stopped at a cafe and had drink tasting & cakes. Very enjoyable, long day but was one of the best excursions we have ever done. Would definitely recommend.

Amazing views and good experience - Made my trip with Nuno today. He was a great host for the day.The trip took me to places and sites I would not have seen- Alvor, Ferragudo, Silves and Moncique. That was amazing experience and Nuno was very knowledgeable, all good explained with local and historic facts. I had amazing lunch to. I highly recommended this company and trip.

Private jeep tour of Algarve - We were picked up at our hotel which was great as it wasn’t listed as a pick up point. Our tour guide was Arrtur, who was friendly, funny and very knowledgeable. It was a very hot day, 40+ degrees, so it was hot in the jeep as it was closed top, even with the windows open, and 4 adults! We learnt a lot about the history and the off road drive through the mountain was good fun.
We didn't enjoy lunch, but that was personal preference… it was pork chop or mackerel in a traditional Portuguese cafe bar (with no air conditioning).
It was a full day, visited some interesting places and enjoyed the scenery of the mountains.
