Unfair Fast Track Entry to Rides - All of the rides had at least of 60-90 mins queue, which I didn't mind, but the fast track entry by people who could afford it didn't seem proportionate. I understand why they get priority, but they shouldn't get immediate entry. They should at least wait for a while.

Disappointing - Alton Towers has been my theme park of choice for well over 20 years, and we were so excited to take our daughter for the first time - as she’s now tall enough to go on some of the “grown up” rollercoasters. We knew it would be busy given it was the summer holidays, but the time we spent queuing was absolutely ridiculous. We were there for around 8 hours and only made it onto 5 rides: Thirteen, The Curse, Spinball Whizzer, Hex and Runaway Mine Train (which we were only able to go on because we paid an extra £30 to fastrack before leaving). Wicker Man was also closed all day, so we were unable to ride that one. Reading other reviews, it seems the only way to enjoy a day out at Alton Towers is to buy a platinum fast track ticket, at a cost of £135pp, making it a £700 day out for a family of four - before food and drink are taken into account! I think we will be looking into other options for next summer, especially considering queue times will be even longer if our child was tall enough for nemesis etc.

Shambles - avoid at all costs - We went to Alton Towers on 24/08/2025, and the day was nothing but shambles! Their ride availability when compared to other UK parks (Merlin included) is abysmal, they continuously have ride breakdowns. I completely understand rides go down but it’s very evident over the last few years something has gone majorly wrong at this park. There is no care in this park anymore! The staff are all rude and grumpy, the toilets are utterly disgusting and the downtime of rides is hysterical. A 10-7 day and we got 4 rides in. Continuous breakdowns and clearing of the queue lines after we’d been waiting anything from 20 minutes to 50 minutes and we got nothing to show for it! Also to have to wait 50 minutes for chicken tenders and fries is crazy, especially when considering there were 4 people infront of us….. Sadly Alton towers have lost my money from now on, the last 4/5 visits have all been the same and I’ll stick to parks like Thorpe Park and Paultons Park in future.

Rip Off Merchants - I specifically bought "Twice The Fun" tickets, but apparently I did not. I'm not paying again to visit here. Unable to add my details into the app. Food is overpriced and poor quality. The refillable cup recharge points are often out of gas, ice, flavours, or all three. Queues. 9+ hours in resort for 22 minutes of rides. On the plus side, the app did a good job of letting you know where you were.

Shambles of a bank holiday - Most of the rides were shut for most of the day, Rita and Wickerman closed all day. For a family of 6 costing over £200 to just get on a couple of rides is absolutely awful value. I won’t be going back.

Not worth the cost or time. - We visited on Tuesday 12th August, We won't be visiting again any time soon. From the car park to the gate was 1 hour 45 minutes. My son has the rap, the whole point of getting this is so he doesn't have a meltdown while waiting in a queue. He has lots of problems health wize and most are not visible to others! Waiting for the monorail, then 25 minutes for the rap, then 25 minutes in the bag check queue didn't help, so we started the day off really badly. I always pay for my ticket even though I can get it free, it's not the about the cost to get in, it's about waiting in queues, noise and crowds, but ensuring he can have a normal as possible life in the little time we get as a family in the holidays. We managed one ride then tried to get some dinner! He has 2 food allergies and finding food for him took over an hour, we ended up at the little explorers lunch box. Where he could have the tomato pasta. Great, we also ordered vegan flatbread, which never arrived despite re ordering it with staff after 20 minutes. Also £5 for 1 cup drink is so over priced! Then went on hex which I really like but the time from getting through the door to on the ride is too long. Then onto the riding school, the staff on here really need some new training on how not to be rude to people, the lady on the gate was talking on her head set about my son, saying "yeah I Dont think he needs it either ".!, refering to his rap! when I said yes he does she just laughed ! Luckily my son doesn't understand when people like this are so rude and unfortunatly he will deal with very ignorant people like this all through his life. I thought alton towers was a safe space for all, but some people spoil it for us! At 5pm we left, we went on 4 rides, the battle cannons, the water ride, hex and the driving school, my son Is too big for cbeebies, and too scared or too small to to on the roller coasters! So the park doesn't have many other rides, he did want to go on the mine train but it was closed all day, I dont understand why you couldn't make the rap like legoland where it's all app based, it would save the queue for the cards,
