Splash Landings Hotel & Water park - Splash Landings Hotel was beautiful. We were greeted by Dave at the front door, who went out of his way to make my daughters birthday special. He helped us check in and book dinner & Breakfast and then told us we will get an email or text when our room will be ready. He then directed us to the Waterpark.
The water park was great although very busy (next time we will come during the week). Water was very warm & fun we stayed for around 3 hours. A few minor comments is that there was not enough seating and my bags were moved 3 times even when i had gone up to get food came back and my belongings had been moved by staff and i had to sit on the floor to eat my food. Food/drink in water park were quite bland and a lilttle over priced.
Hotel room was lovely, beds were very comfortable. Maybe soundproofing the door could be a good option as we were woken at 7am with kids running up and down the hall way constantly.
Dinner was nice, again a bit over priced but as this was the only restaurant we had to eat from there and i feel that it wasnt worth almost £30 per adult.
Breakfast was very nice great variety.
Golf was a greet addition to our package.

We look forward to going back - As a family of 3, we stayed at Splash Landings hotel (inc. waterpark) and then did CBeebies Land and Mutiny Bay on the following day. Everything was very busy being half term but we could not genuinely fault our stay. The staff in the hotel, restaurant and park, were working very hard to keep things running smoothly and everyone happy. Shout out to Chloe in Flambos and Kenzie on Get Set Go, who really did go the extra mile in engaging with the kids but all staff members were great. Overall, we were very happy with our stay and the kids look forward to going back.

Not the best first experience... - Ample parking. Easy polite check in. Clear instructions and lovely helpful staff.
We booked early check in. 1pm watermark entry. It was that busy we only got into the watermark at 2.30pm! And had to be out at 4pm. Disappointed. We then went back to our rooms and got ready for the evening. The whole of the couple of hours kids were running up and down the corridors, screaming, shouting and banging. Doors slamming. This place is for kids, yes. But I dont think acceptable behaviour. Personal choice. We went to a nearby lovely pub The Star. Just down the road. Great food and service. The next morning from 6am kids are banging doors and having races up and down the halls. Bedrooms and bathrooms were spotlessly clean and lovely and comfortable. Breakfast was lovely but again over booked. Waiting on and all kitchen staff I chatted to were lovely. However the girl checking people into breakfast had a bad attitude, no manners and rolled her eyes when she asked if I had an allergy and I replied Coeliac - barked at me "scan the screen wait there someone will fetch you" she was rude. I still thanked her.
So staff and the service mostly great. Rooms great. Just not the place to stay for us. We will return to the waterpark but as we dont live far we will go for the day.

Over all not worth the money - Hotel check in was quick and easy staff was very friendly and helpful. Room was clean and to what you expect to be honest dont see what you pay for as the themes aren't anything special in my opinion might as well be plain.
Swimming was amazing and loads to do water was warm in all part except for outside obviously but wasnt bad.
Prices for food and drinks in the hotel and swimming is very expensive, but the buffet and breakfast was really nice food better than what I expected.
We went to go to cbeebies world as that is all that is open but it was extremely busy and every ride was 60 to 80 mins wait so was pointless as you couldn't really do much as the park doesnt open till 10 and shuts at 4, so my son and niece didnt get a chance to go on anything.
Need to look at opening times or another way to filter that many people in a tiny bit of the park.
Over all stay was ok but for the price of the room, food and drinks you could get more fornyour money elsewhere.

Waterpark experience - The waterpark was clean and a good experience. The staff were on hand to help which was good, they moved personal items from tables and chairs where people had left things trying to hold the area for themselves, meaning people couldnt sit and eat, this was good to see. Did feel a little bit too busy for the size of the venue which was the down side. The slides were out of action leaving everyone in a couple of areas leaving it packed.

Pirate takeover hotel stay - Visited for the half term pirate takeover, which included admission into the park, hotel, (golf we didn’t attempt) and waterpark.
Pros: room in Splash Landings was basic but acceptable, breakfast included in the price was also fine. Staff all very polite and friendly.
Kids absolutely loved the waterpark, this was the highlight of our trip and made it all worth the visit.
Cons: park was insanely busy, every part of it even the aquarium was uncomfortably busy. Queues to the rides in CBeebies land were an hour each ride. Not fun in the freezing cold with young children. It just felt like they’d admitted too many people in for such a small number of rides open.
We’d never visit in half term again.
Food: We decided not to waste money at the hotel restaurant based on previous negative reviews, so we went to The Talbot instead and it was absolutely delicious (and half the price!)

Not great, very noisy and they have let the place go down hill - We have had so many good stays over the years but The noise was terrible. Children using the corridors as a play ground until early hours and then at 6:30am no staff telling them to stop. You’ve got a Netflix button on the tv remote that doesn’t work. Had to queue in the cold for 30mins to play mini golf and a drenched course. Waterpark was also really crowded. The hotel is dated now and we expected better as we have always enjoyed it before but I doubt we would ever stay there again on a short break.

Pirate Takeover aka Waste of Money - We went to the Pirate Takeovers in 2018, 2019 and 2020 and I would say they were good value for money. They had pirate and princess entertainers everywhere, posing with guests. There was a pirate panto performance which was brilliant. The same three years in the row but still lots of fun. They had a disco in the function room at the bottom of the main hotel. The park was closed, but that was fine because they had so much going on at the hotel. There was colouring, a cinema room, they utilised a lot of the space that was otherwise being unused.
This is all gone.
We were so disappointed. We arrived early, with the thoughts that what had worked before had was still happening. We should have lowered our expectations dramatically.
I want to say, all the staff who were working while we stayed there were fantastic. Friendly, warm, welcoming, helpful and the entertainers were incredibly entertaining. But in previous years, the staff were dressed up in costume. Now, they just had the cheap hats on from the shop. The quality is just gone. This is obviously an upper management decision that’s focusing on penny pinching but all it results in is a lesser experience for the customer and less value for money.
Dinner was at Flambo Jambos and it was dry and fairly tasteless. I had the curry, but you wouldn’t have known it was curry. I tried to have the pasta but it was in a small bowl and kept running out. Again, the staff were great, but the food was awful. And it cost a fortune! For the price, I’d be expecting at least an average quality buffet, but instead it was a poor quality buffet. This again is management penny pinching, lowering the quality of the food and therefore the value for money.
The entertainment was different too. My husband was called up on stage in previous years and all the dads did silly dances. The princesses led a lovely princess party and it was very engaging. I’m sorry to say that this visit, my children were bored. The entertainers did their jobs brilliantly, but it wasn’t as interactive as it’s been in the past.
I should have known that the quality has been going down hill as we went to the Santa Sleepover a couple years ago and it was very similar to this, disappointing.
I think I am in an unusual position that I’ve been to previous years and had a wonderful time, and I presume only a few people would know that the quality has slipped so far, but I would not come again and would certainly not recommend this event to anyone. It is not good value for money at all. The food, what’s on offer, the overall experience have slipped dramatically.
In 2018, we were in a yurt and the children won medals that they still have today, for their fabulous dancing, they gave them to all the children.
And this year, we have the privilege of paying an extra 18 quid if we want to go to the theme park. It’s all just a money grab, it’s not value for money, I wouldn’t bother going. Even if your child loves pirates, there aren’t any walking around to say hello to, unlike previous years, so your child wouldn’t get much of a pirate experience at all.

Urine covered changing rooms and dirty rooms. Avoid. - Urine all over the changing room floor. It was there when we first got changed and 2.5 hours later. Dirty rooms. Worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. Cleanliness across the whole hotel and water park is shocking.
In addition, cold breakfast (half the items were not available), broken lockers so we had to leave bags poolside and 1 hour queues for slides.
