• Alta - Upon arrival, the guide will escort guests to the office to provide details about the day’s itinerary, share insights into local history, and explain the reasons behind the whales’ migration to the Altafjord. Guests will have the opportunity to borrow warm outdoor clothing and can leave personal items securely at the office.
• Altafjord - Depending on the whales’ location, the boat tour will commence from one of the harbors in the Altafjord. As the tour progresses, the guide will share fascinating historical facts about the area, discuss the local wildlife, and describe the types of whales that may be encountered during the tour. Participants will embark on an exhilarating boat journey through the Altafjord, seeking out wildlife and whales. The tour will last approximately 3 hours, offering breathtaking views of the fjord landscape and opportunities to observe and photograph whales.
• Alta - Following the adventure, guests will return to the office to change clothes before being transported back to their original pickup location. The entire tour is expected to last around 4.5 hours, including transportation to and from the Altafjord.

From November to January, orcas, humpback whales, and other species gather in the fjords near Alta for a grand herring feast. But the adventure doesn’t stop there. The region is also home to Arctic dolphins, the magnificent sea eagle with a wingspan of up to 2.5 meters, and various other seabird species. Depending on the group size and weather conditions, different boats are used, but a local guide will always accompany the group. During the boat transfer to the hotspot and when the whales are diving, you can relax inside the warm cabin with hot chocolate and snacks.
