Into the Heart of the Arctic

The Arctic has always been a place of fascination for me, a former Arctic researcher turned travel writer. The allure of its raw, untamed beauty and the harshness of its climate have always drawn me back. This time, it was the promise of an intimate encounter with the Northern Lights and a pack of spirited huskies that led me to Alta, Norway. The Husky Adventure promised an experience unlike any other, and it did not disappoint.

Upon arrival, I was greeted by Ole, our guide and the owner of the small kennel. His passion for his huskies was evident from the moment we met. He whisked us away from the port to his home, nestled in the breathtaking Alta Valley.
