The moment I touched down in Almaty, the anticipation was palpable. The Northern Tien Shan, with its untouched slopes and early snowfall, was calling my name. My fiancée and I, both seasoned adventurers, were ready to tackle the Ketmen Ridge Skitour. Our journey began with a one-day skitour near Almaty, which included an essential avalanche safety session.
