Hiking option (for fit and experienced hikers): Embark on a 14 km mountain trail reaching 2,511 m, offering stunning views, including a traditional Kazakh Altybakan swing, followed by a descent through the Moon Valley. The ascent takes 2–3 hours, with 2 hours spent at the lake, and the same route back. Hiking boots are necessary; trekking poles and raincoats are provided.

- October is typically rainy, so check the forecast as a clear view of the lake cannot be guaranteed.
- From November to May, the lake remains frozen.
