The journey continues to Uluru for lunch and a meet-up with guests arriving at the airport.
Next, visit the Aboriginal Cultural Centre to delve into the rich history, stories, and cultural significance of the land. Enjoy a guided walk around the base of Uluru, where the guide will share insights into ancient rock art, sacred waterholes like Mutitjulu, and the tales of Kuniya the python and Liru the venomous snake.
Proceed to Kantju Gorge, home to Central Australia’s tallest seasonal waterfall, and explore sacred caves once used as natural pantries by local Aboriginal people. Conclude the day with a breathtaking Uluru sunset—ideal for photos and memories. Relish dinner under the vast Outback sky before settling in at the campsite for the night.
Ayers Rock (Uluru) to Kings Canyon
Kata Tjuta - The Olgas - Early risers, get ready! A pre-dawn wake-up call promises an unforgettable experience as the day begins before dawn to witness the magnificent sunrise at Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park. After basking in the first light over Uluru, continue the journey to Kata Tjuta (The Olgas), a remarkable collection of dome-shaped rock formations that inspire a sense of wonder. Embark on either the Valley of the Winds or Walpa Gorge walk, both offering spectacular views and ample opportunities for awe-inspiring moments.
Following the time at Kata Tjuta, stop at camp for a meal before heading to the Kings Canyon region, arriving in time to enjoy another stunning outback sunset. The day concludes with a traditional campfire dinner, providing a truly authentic Australian outback experience.
Kings Canyon to Alice Springs or Ayers Rock (Uluru)
Kings Canyon - With an early start, depart for Kings Canyon. Prepare to be captivated by the dramatic 100-meter cliffs and striking sandstone formations that define this iconic landscape. The Rim Walk, celebrated as the highlight of Watarrka National Park, offers panoramic views that are truly breathtaking. The guide will provide fascinating insights into the canyon’s ancient geological history, its unique flora and fauna, and other notable features of this remarkable location.
On the return journey to Alice Springs, travel through the rugged Australian outback, either along the main highway or, if conditions allow, via the scenic Mereenie Loop or Ernest Giles Road. Expect to arrive back in Alice Springs between 6:00 pm and 6:30 pm, enriched with new experiences, lasting memories, and stories of the outback to share with others.

Recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage site in 1987 for its breathtaking geological formations, unique flora and fauna, and exceptional natural beauty, Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park is truly a sight to behold. Accompanied by an expert guide, participants will uncover the fascinating secrets of the Red Centre through engaging commentary, stories, and hidden treasures that bring this remarkable place to life.
Two accommodation options are available at exclusive private campsites: twin safari tents or a traditional swag experience (a canvas-covered bedroll).
The tour begins in Alice Springs and concludes in either Alice Springs or Uluru/Ayers Rock/Yulara, depending on shuttle availability. Please confirm your drop-off location when booking.
- A minimum moderate to advanced level of fitness is required to complete the walks. Therefore a medium/high level of fitness is required and a doctor’s certificate is required for people over 75 years (30 days prior to travel).
- The tour operator must be notified of any known medical conditions at the time of booking. This is a very physical tour and requires a moderate level of fitness and mobility.
- While we endeavour to cater to most dietary needs, passengers must advise dietary requirements to their booking agent at the time of booking. As we are venturing to remote areas we are very limited in what we can source once the tour departs, therefore prior notice is required.
- Children aged between 8 to 17 years old must be accompanied by an adult or legal guardian at all times. Not suitable for infants or children 7 years and under, due to safety requirements and the level of fitness required to complete the walk.
- Please advise at time of booking whether you require a hire of a sleeping bag?
- Guests are asked to participate in the preparation of meals, clean up and vehicle unpacking/loading, so everyone can relax together after a long day of touring. It’s also a great way to get to know and connect with your fellow travellers.
- This tour ends in Alice Springs and on select days Ayers Rock/Yulara.
