• Alexandria City Hall & Market Square - In 1774, a pivotal document in American history was enacted in Alexandria. At Market Square, there will be a discussion on how this document influenced the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Bill of Rights.

• Carlyle House - Constructed in 1753, the Carlyle House is a significant site on the path to the American Revolution. Discover the beginnings of General Braddock’s campaign during the French and Indian War.

• The tour will pass by The Carlyle House without entering.*

• King Street - While walking along the 100 and 200 blocks of King Street, historic sites where notable Revolutionary War veterans lived and worked will be observed. These include:
• The Gilpin House
• Fitzgerald’s Warehouse
• Old Presbyterian Meeting House - The burial ground of numerous American Patriots will be visited, along with the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier of the American Revolution. This is a hidden treasure in Alexandria!
• Alexandria’s Christ Church - George Washington’s pew and his place of worship will be viewed. This historic church dates back to before the American Revolution.

• If open, the Church can be visited inside. It is open Wednesday to Sunday from 12 pm to 4 pm.*
