- Alexandria Visitors Center - We start at the Ramsay House and discuss the origins of Alexandria, Virginia. William Ramsay was a Scottish merchant and good friend of George Washington. He was one of the founders of Alexandria. This first stop contains one of our favorite hidden gems. Hint: It’s hiding in plain sight!

- Carlyle House - Travelers will discover where the American Revolution was born. No kidding! Twenty years before the Revolutionary War started, events were in motion that would lead to the American colonies declaring independence.
- Gadsby’s Tavern Museum - We will stop outside Gadsby’s and talk about its connection to early American presidents. We will also see the famous ice well!
- Hollensbury Spite House - The story of the famous Spite House will be told. We will see the famous house and make sure guests can take pictures!
- Alexandria’s Christ Church - Discover where George Washington went to church in Alexandria. You can even sit in his pew.
- Athenaeum - We will pass by the Athenaeum as we walk down Prince Street and head toward Captain’s Row. There is an abundance of fascinating sites along the 200 block of Prince Street. Beautiful homes that have stories dating back to the 18th century.
- Captain’s Row - One of Alexandria’s classic cobblestone streets. Fun and fascinating history to include one of Alexandria’s largest fires. We will discuss why it is called Captain’s Row. This will be the last stop on the tour and we will take pictures and be close to great restaurants!

5 Stars - Excellent Tour. - We truly enjoyed the walking tour of Alexandria. It was cold but Tim kept us moving without rushing. He pointed out historic homes and told stories that made the 90 minutes fly by. Between the cobblestone streets, colonial era charm and immense history, we fell in love with Old Town Alexandria. Even our 13 year old thought it was "cool". We highly recommend the Guided Walking Tour of Old Town Alexandria.

Outstanding Tour Experience - This tour of Old Town, Alexandria is outstanding. Not only are you provided with the ultra-rich history of the area, but our tour guide, Wayne Kehoe, provided us with a wealth of anecdotes, that helped to explain many colloquialisms that we use in our modern language. He made our tour both interesting and fun. We highly recommend this company and this tour.

Wonderful time in ALX! - John is a very knowledgeable guide! I chose a tour on a holiday weekend, and the owner made sure someone was available. The cold didn’t stop John from being a wealth of knowledge. Our dialogue was exemplary; I ended the tour feeling more educated about Old Town. Thank-you for the experience!!

Great walking tour of Alexandria - We had a great tour with Tim. He has worked hard and prepared a very thoughtful tour of Alexandria. I was impressed with his delivery.
The tour had a good through line talking about George Washington and his involvement with Alexandria. Tim is passionate about telling Alexandria's history. He sees the town as a big museum waiting to be explored.
I recommend you take this tour if visiting Alexandria

Great architecture and history walk in Alexandria, Virginia - We really enjoyed the history walk in Alexandria, Virginia with Eileen. She was full of knowledge about the area and it really helped us discover Alexandria‘s history and architecture. Would recommend to anyone interested in the area’s history, culture, or architecture.

History of Alexandria - Eileen was an outstanding tour guide with interesting stories about the history of Alexandria and George Washington.

Changed my opinion of history - Tim, made history something I thought it could never be.....interesting! I was always bored with history in school. I learned so much about the history of Alexandria and our nation from him. The tour brought it all alive for me! Alexandria has so many historical buildings and Tim gave the stories behind many of them. Definitely need to put this tour on your list.
