• Alexandria Library - Conclude the wonderful tour with a visit to the Modern Alexandria Library, where you can explore its open court and free museums. The original library was renowned worldwide for its vast collection of books on various sciences and literature. It suffered damage multiple times during the Greco-Roman era until it disappeared. Reconstruction of the library began in the late 1980s. The modern library’s design features four underground levels and six above-ground levels, and its unique architecture is considered a gem. The library showcases the history of Alexandria, Egyptian history, and the cultures of the Arab world, Africa, and the Mediterranean, as well as global culture, ideas, and civilization. Note: The Alexandria Library is closed on Fridays, but you can take photos from outside.

• Pompey’s Pillar - Pompey’s Pillar is a majestic red granite column in Alexandria, Egypt, standing 25 meters tall, likely erected to honor Emperor Diocletian. It is the tallest ancient monument in the city.

• Ancient Roman Theater, Alexandria - Next, visit the Roman Amphitheatre located in the heart of Alexandria at Kom el-Dikka, an expansive Roman theatrical and residential complex. It includes Egypt’s only known Roman amphitheater, a remarkably well-preserved structure with thirteen terraces, built in the traditional Greek style.

• Kayetbai - Then, enjoy a photo stop at Qaitbey’s Citadel, one of the most significant defensive strongholds, not only in Egypt but also along the Mediterranean Sea coast. It was a crucial part of Alexandria’s fortification system in the 15th century A.D. The Citadel stands at the entrance of the eastern harbor on the eastern tip of Pharos Island, built on the site of the famous Lighthouse of Alexandria, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.

• Catacombs of Kom el Shoqafa - At around 7:00 am, you will be transported in an air-conditioned vehicle from your hotel to Alexandria (approximately a 3.5-hour drive) to meet your tour guide. Discover the beauty and Greco-Roman civilization on a day tour, starting with the catacombs of Kom el Shoqafa, considered one of the wonders of the Middle Ages. It is the largest known Roman burial site in Egypt, with three levels of tombs that could hold up to 300 bodies. Initially intended as a private family cemetery, it was later converted into a public cemetery. The tombs’ architecture reflects Greco-Roman styles, evident in the wall decorations that blend Egyptian, Greek, and Roman artistic traditions. Burials here include sarcophagi, shelves, and urns of ashes after cremation.
