Great Guide - Mahmood is a fantastic guide. He's well-educated, engaging, friendly, and flexible. Visiting the Commonwealth Cemetery was a moving experience. We were able to add on a tour of the Serapium for a very reasonable price. This is where Mahmood really came into his own. We then modified our drop-off to a restaurant Mahmood recommended for a truly authentic Egyptian meal at a family restaurant, Kebab Ouzi.

Absolutely worth seeing - The tour was first class and the tourist guide Poula was very well organized. I could see everything I wanted to see and everything went smoothly. The food at the end was also first class and afterwards we went to a tea room to end the day.

Trip in the end great. Guide was terrible!!! Would recommend the tour but get a much better guide. - When we eventually got to the right memorial in El Alamein for the Allied forces including New Zealand and Australia it was fantastic. Not sure Viator why we joined another tour but the guide took us to the German and Italian which our countries were in conflict with. She was lovely but had no history of this event. That was disappointing.

An excellent look into the significance of the Battle of El Alamein thanks to a guide who knows the importance of it. - The private day trip to El Alamein from Alexandria was fantastic. Thanks to my guide Mohamed Salama, who was excellent in providing details around the war memorials from understanding the significance of the major battle of El Alamein to how even though the cemeteries exist, there are still bodies being discovered to this day (and even some mines)! I found the Commonwealth memorial to be quite profound and the El Alamein Museum was a fantastic place for me to walk by myself as my guide gave me initial information to help me navigate the area. And the lunch when we returned to Alexandria was a good treat as well. It’s sad to hear how new resort developments are taking over and the future of these memorials might be in question. I highly recommend this tour as a good day out to learn about the significance of El Alamein thanks to the guide and also to get in before the resorts start taking over.

Amazingly Profound Experience. - The various war memorials in El Alamein are amazing in both architecture and significance and so different from each other. The tour takes you to the Italian, German and Commonwealth memorials / cemeteries and ends up at the Military museum. The whole day was unbelievably profound. It was especially significant for my wife, whose Grandfather fought at El Alamein with the Australian Ninth Division. Our Guide and Driver were both excellent!

View of the Italian Shrine of El Alamein - Spectacular view to the shrine of El Alamein, Karim was exceptional, managed to resolve in a short time an inconvenience not dependent on our driver and also when we arrived at the shrine of the fallen Italians, made sure to let us in, despite being closed, a heartfelt thanks to Karim and the custodian of our shrine of El Alamein.

Very worthwhile trip to El Alamein - Good road from Alexandria to El Alamein, meant the journey each way took 1.5hrs. Extraordinary to see all the development along the route.
The three cemeteries were very quiet and learning that development is encroaching on them was a worry as they did not care about the history and the dead. The museum was very interesting, well laid out, the staff member very keen to show me round and explain the exhibits in good English.
Our guide for the day was Mohamed, and he together with the driver made it a very worthwhile trip and answered and explained additional information along the way.
I know about WWII in North Africa and would thoroughly recommend for anyone with an interest in history to do this tour.

I knew very little about WW11 in North Africa and would thoroughly recommend for anyone with an interest in history.
