For those traveling from Anchorage to Whittier, please schedule your booking for noon. We will pass through the Anton Anderson Tunnel at 1:30 PM, arriving at the cruise ship by 1:45 PM. The Anton Anderson Tunnel is fascinating, opening only on the half-hour for entry into Whittier.
Departing Whittier - Cruise Disembarkation
If departing from Whittier, select the time closest to your ship’s departure, typically 7:30 AM or 8:30 AM. We will use the 8 AM or 9 AM Anton Anderson Tunnel. This toll tunnel is incredible, opening only on the hour for departures from Whittier.

Pickup is available in Whittier with drop-off in Anchorage, or vice versa. This service is tailored for transportation to and from Whittier’s cruise ships for groups of up to 10 people. Beyond transportation, the operator provides a narrated tour, sharing Alaska’s history and scenic views. Enjoy photo stops at picturesque locations, weather and time permitting.

For those returning to the airport from Whittier, pickup is at the cruise departure time, usually around 8 AM. Specific times can be arranged via message.

The Anton Anderson Tunnel is a unique 2.7-mile-long tunnel with a rich history. It is bi-directional, sharing a lane with trains, and opens hourly for departures from Whittier and on the half-hour for arrivals. While it generally operates smoothly, occasional delays may occur. The operator ensures a well-timed transfer.

For cruise departures from Anchorage, pickup is available from your Airbnb or hotel. The drive takes about 90 minutes, with photo stops planned to ensure timely tunnel access.

Upon arrival at the cruise ship, luggage will be delivered to the longshoremen for check-in. Bags will meet you in your room. While not mandatory, having ship tags on your bags is helpful. If not, tagging will be done upon drop-off. Passports should be ready when dropping off bags.
