• Kennecott Copper Mine - Discover the Kennecott townsite with an expert guide! Begin at the town’s edge with a breathtaking view as you learn about the site’s development and what life was like there. During the walk, your guide will describe the historic buildings you encounter. The primary aim of your guide is to provide access to the 14-story Kennecott Mill and Ammonia Leaching Buildings, exclusively available on this tour. Inside these structures, your guide will demonstrate the old machinery and explain the copper ore processing and working conditions in the early 1900s. Please be aware that mine access is strictly forbidden by the NPS for safety reasons. Some buildings along the route are open to the public, so ensure you explore these either before or after the tour (buildings are open from 9am to 5pm).
