great experience - I have never been rafting before and had always wanted to try but I've just never been anywhere that it was offered so close to where I was staying. rafting at Denali while staying at McKinley Chalet couldn't be easier! we opted for the full day ("easy" and more challenging") trips combined. While the "easy" trip is scenic, personally I would skip it and just do the white water portion. it's way more fun. the "easy" portion is great for the elderly, but if you actually want to have fun, you need to get wet! out guide Owen was amazing. he was friendly, talkative, and engaging. if you go, don't cheat and get in an oar boat. you want to paddle yourself. it's a much better experience and we had a lot of fun paddling when Owen yelled at us to do so. at an area they refer to as the swimming hole, Owen offered us the chance to jump in and test the dry suits out. me and one other guy took him up on the offer. Yep. the water is cold but the dry suits work! for the price and convenience, this is a must do while you're in the area.
