Coptic Cairo - Begin your day at 8:00 am with a pickup from your hotel in Cairo or Giza by a tour guide to start your full-day tour of Old Cairo, known as Christian Coptic Cairo. This area is one of the most significant sites visited by the Holy Family, where their spiritual presence is still strongly felt. Although their stay was brief, as the Governor of what was then Fustat sought to harm the Child due to the falling of idols at Jesus’ approach, they found refuge in a cave. Above this cave, the Church of Abu Serga (St. Sergius) was later built. This area, including the Fort of Babylon, is a pilgrimage destination for Egyptians and Christians worldwide. The district exudes an atmosphere of piety and devotion. Here, you can visit and enter the Church of Abu-Sergah and St. Barbara, the Hanging Church, and the old Jewish synagogue – Ben Ezra Synagogue.

Mosque and Madrasa of Sultan Hassan - Followed by a visit to one of the largest mosques in Cairo, the El Sultan Hassan Mosque, also known as
Madrasa El Sultan Hassan, founded by Sultan Hassan in 1356 A.D. The Mosque-Madrassa of Sultan Hassan is a grand Mamluk-era mosque and madrassa near The Citadel in Cairo. Its construction began in 757 AH/1356 CE and was completed three years later “without even a single day of idleness.” At the time, the mosque was notable for its impressive size and innovative architectural features. Commissioned by a sultan with a brief and relatively unimpressive profile, al-Maqrizi noted several “wonders of construction” within the mosque. It was designed to include schools for all four Sunni schools of thought: Shafi’i, Maliki, Hanafi, and Hanbali. - Al Rifai Mosque - Then visit another prominent mosque, Al-Rifa’i Mosque, located opposite the Mosque-Madrassa of Sultan Hassan. Dating from around 1361, it was architecturally designed to complement the older structure. This was part of a vast campaign by the 19th-century rulers of Egypt to associate themselves with the perceived glory of earlier periods in Egypt’s Islamic history and modernize the city. The mosque was built next to two large public squares and several European-style buildings.
- Cairo Citadel - Visit The Citadel of Cairo, where you can see the most famous mosque in Cairo, Mohamed Ali’s mosque, known as the Alabaster Mosque.
