- Wadi El-Rayan - The Wadi El Rayan reserve is composed of seven distinct areas: the upper and lower lakes, El Rayan springs, El Rayan Falls, El Modawara Mountain (or Jabal El Modawara in Arabic), El Rayan Mountain (Jabal El Rayan), and Wadi El Hitan (The Valley of the Whales). These regions boast breathtaking landscapes, including oases, mountains, rock formations, and waterfalls.
- Valley of the Whales (Wadi Al-Hitan) - Wadi Al-Hitan, located in Egypt’s Western Desert, is the sole place on Earth where the skeletons of extinct whale families can be seen in their original geological and geographical context—a nutrient-rich shallow bay from a sea that existed around 40 million years ago. The site offers valuable insights into the paleoecological conditions of Eocene vertebrate and invertebrate life, as well as the evolution of these ancestors of modern whales. Fossils and sediments from various periods reveal millions of years of life, with two species retaining small hind limbs, feet, and toes.
- Magic Lake Camp - Magic Lake, part of the Wadi El Rayan National Park, is renowned for its distinctive water color. Visitors have the opportunity to enjoy sandboarding or swimming in this lake.
- Tunis - The quaint village of Tunis (‘izbat Tunis) is nestled in the Fayoum oasis, en route to Wadi Rayan. Perched on a hill overlooking a large saltwater lake, the village offers a breathtaking view of the desert’s edge across the lake. It is considered one of the most beautiful places in Egypt. Visitors can enjoy a BBQ lunch while taking in the scenery.
