• Cairo Opera House - As part of Cairo’s National Cultural Centre, the Cairo Opera House serves as the primary venue for performing arts in Egypt’s capital. It hosts many of Egypt’s premier musical ensembles and is situated on the southern part of Gezira Island in the Nile River, within the Zamalek district near downtown.
• Zamalek (Gezira Island) - Nestled in the Nile River between downtown Cairo and Giza, this island is known for its luxurious hotels, fine dining, and beautiful gardens.
• Sixth of October Bridge - The bridge and causeway were finalized in 1996, after nearly 30 years of construction. It commenced in 1969 with the initial, 130 meters (430 ft)-long Phase 1, which only crossed the smaller west branch of the Nile from Gezira to Agouza (constructed from May 1969 to August 1972). Phase 9 completed the 21.193 kilometers (13.169 mi)-long final stretch in 2005. The ‘6th October Bridge and Flyover’ extends from the Agricultural Museum in Dokki eastward to the Autostrade in Nasr City.
• Qasr El Nil Bridge - The Qasr el Nil Bridge (formerly Khedive Ismail Bridge, Egyptian Arabic: Asr el Nil Bridge), is a historic swing bridge structure from 1931 that replaced the first bridge to span the Nile River in central Cairo, Egypt. It links Tahrir Square in Downtown Cairo on the east bank of the river to the southern tip of Gezira/Zamalek Island. At both the east and west ends of the bridge are four large bronze lion statues, crafted in the late 19th century by Henri Alfred Jacquemart, a French sculptor and animalier.
• Egyptian Museum - A visit to Egypt is incomplete without exploring the Museum of Egyptian Antiquities, known as the Egyptian Museum in Cairo. It houses the world’s most remarkable and extensive collection of ancient Egyptian artifacts, spanning over 3,000 years, from the Old Kingdom to the Roman period in Egypt. It is said that if one were to spend a minute on each exhibit, it would take nine months to see everything. However, if that seems too lengthy, at least a morning (or ideally two) should be dedicated to viewing the museum’s numerous highlights, despite the exhibits often being poorly lit and displayed. The ground floor is organized chronologically, moving clockwise from the entrance hall, while the first floor’s exhibits are arranged thematically.
