- Skutustaoagigar - Skútustaðagígar are truly one of Iceland’s treasures. Located in the Lake Myvatn area, these uniquely and beautifully formed craters are a landmark. Known as pseudo craters, they are not formed by volcanic explosions, and the guide will provide detailed information about them.
- Dimmuborgir Lava Formations - The tour includes a leisurely drive around the lake, visiting various sites. Dimmuborgir is a fascinating and unique area where visitors can walk among unusual lava sculptures, pillars, and caves. The knowledgeable guides are eager to accompany visitors, explaining the area’s formation 2,500 years ago and sharing local troll folklore.
- Grjotagja Cave - Grjótagjá, a small cave in the Lake Mývatn area, was once a popular bathing spot. However, geological activity from 1975-1984 raised the water temperature, making it unsuitable for bathing. At Grjotagjá, the guide will show the crack between the two tectonic plates and discuss the continental drift, mantle plumes, and volcanic activity in Iceland.
- Namafjall Hverir - Hverir is a geothermal area at the base of Namaskard near Lake Myvatn, featuring colorful sulfur mud pits, steam vents, cracked mud, and fumaroles. This area is vibrant, mystical, and incredibly beautiful, though it has a noticeable sulfur smell.
