Unexpected memorable tour - We’ve been to tour in August 2025, it’s quite late 😬😊but want to leave a comment. We are a cruise ship crew. It was last tour on bus to Godafoss waterfall. So this review can be multiplied 4 times because we were 4 of us. My colleagues did have chance to leave a comment so I’m doing it for all of us (they are still working 😅and I’m on vacation at home 😁). Our guide was BELEN. She is incredible! I was looking for a transportation to reach the waterfall by ourselves but that day was holiday in Iceland and was no transportation available. Then we have decided to take a tour but tour bus was leaving the parking place with full of passengers so I literally stopped the bus, we were quite late because we were running back from public bus stop. So, we didn’t have tickets (it has to be purchased in advance to take a seat in a tour bus ) Belen the guide she asked driver to wait for my colleagues and she allow us to take a seat without tickets, but to pay later after the tour which we did with pleasure and on top of that she gave us a little crew discount. We were so happy. On the way to the waterfall and back she was so much engaging we have enjoyed, entertained and learnt so many interesting facts about Iceland and Godafoss waterfall, also she is a real pilot 👩✈️ that’s blew our mind.
The tour itself was a bit short for me, but me and my colleagues we have really enjoyed, lots of pictures, amazed by huge waterfall by the way it looks like mini version of Niagara Falls and if you will be in August please wear a warm clothes and winter hat because it was windy and quite cold, at the end we had a hot drink with some local snacks which is included to the tour. We came back with full of memories, joy and of course pictures.
If you ever will be in Iceland 🇮🇸 which I have never thought that one day I will be there I strongly recommend to take a tour with BELEN from Saga Travel. Amazing work, very funny, engaging and so entertaining. We would like to thank Belen for her patience to wait for us, letting pay later on and she made our day!!! Thank you once again to Saga Travel, you’ve got an amazing people in your team!!!

Great tour with great scenery - Easy to find the bus, and very close to the Cruise ship pier. Super friendly and helpful staff. The tour lasted about 3 hours and gave you plenty of time to see the waterfall.

Great Tour! - Had a wonderful experience with Saga Travel and Hilmar, our guide. The bus ride was smooth, taking us through a very long tunnel going to the falls and through the mountain pass on the way back. Pathways to and around the falls are easy; very manageable. Saga Travel has a connection to this quaint Hotel there, so coffee and a Nordic pastry were a pleasant surprise. Great morning, beautiful falls! We highly recommend this tour!!

Best tour for Godafoss with time to enjoy town - This was a great waterfall to see and Saga Travel did a good job. Our tour guide was terrific! She shared a lot of information that was very interesting. We had just enough time at the waterfall. And coffee and an Iceland pastry was a special treat.
The tour says 2.5 hours but it was just over 3 hours, mostly because we stopped to get pictures of the ship and Akureyri as we returned.
By then I was excited to get into town and see it. We spent about 20 minutes while people took pictures of our ship - way too long!
But I recommend this tour, very nice bus, great guide and coffee and pastry was nice!

Breathtaking beauty. - Outstanding scenery with an informative, personable guide. We took the scenic route to the magnificent waterfalls passing through the countryside where homes and farms sit nestled at the base of snow capped volcanic peaks. This is Iceland at its best.

Fabulous short and simple trip to Godafoss - This was a simple, quick, and yet well organised visit to the major sight close to Akeueri, the Godafoss waterfall.
The driver had a great sense of humour, gave out superb information, dropped us close to the falls with good instructions about how to walk there and find the bus on return, and the tour included a free coffee and donut at the nearby cafe (which also meant no queuing for toilets).
We were back at the ship in justa few hours delighted at how quick and easy this was to see such an impressive sight.

Great choice - Belin did a great job with our small group. There were 4 of us as English speakers and 2 Spanish speakers for this tour. The pick up location at the cruise port was convenient as well. Our excursion was exactly as described and well worth our time and money. The waterfall was spectacular!
