Amazing venue soon to have hotel - Forest Lagoon Stunning 😍 Relaxing views over looking Akureyri and the fjord. Soon to have a new hotel at the side of the lagoon meaning you can book a full geothermal retreat weekend. The food at the Forest lagoon in a must, great produce & well presented. The fixtures & fittings across the whole sight are top end and very pleasing on the eye. The moment you walk in to the sound of a gentle trickling of water running down the rocks to when you leave to the show of the Northern lights above you it’s a must to visit. The Forest lagoon have also considered all aspects of recycling ♻️. No water is wasted here ! Recycled to create underfloor heating to keep the paths / roads clear when the snow falls.

Absolutely Fabulous!! - OhEmGee!! This is my second visit, the first time was 15 months ago and again today on my 50th Birthday. This is paradise on earth, it’s like being enveloped in a wet hug (if that makes sense!!😂) There was a slight misunderstanding, mistakes happen and the most important thing is how they are dealt with. The *Customer service* from the management was excellent!! 10 out of 10!! My earlier plans for whale watching were cancelled due to bad weather and the whole *Birthday plan* could have been ruined but the staff here have absolutely made my day….you know who you are!! 😊 KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!! 🥰

Fabulous Forest Lagoon - Absolutely beautiful experience in a stunning location. Everything was perfect. Free shuttle bus is a must as taxis charge an extortionate amount for a 10 min journey.

Go at night to see the stars and lights of Akureryi - This was such a nice evening under the stars (despite not seeing the Northern Lights)! It was not too busy in February, so lots of room to get comfy, look at the sky or at the lights of Akureryi across the way and have a cocktail (or two!). Staff was very nice and accommodating. This was a great contrast to experiencing the Blue Lagoon in Reykjavic and we preferred this environment much more!

Now only the aurora borealis were missing .. but they came later in the evening - Part of our program was visiting the forest lagoon, swimming wonderfully in the approaching evening in the ~35 degree warm water to the bar, ordering a drink and simply "letting yourself down"

Very relaxing! - I walked from the city center and it was a nice day so it wasn't bad, just a bit icy. I don't know if walking is the best option, but I made it there and back. I spent about 2 hours there and really enjoyed it.

Untapped potential - Despite the huge geothermal resources, it is evident that Iceland does not have a great spa culture and the Forest Lagoon is an example. Recently built, but quite small, with very few pools and only one sauna. Totally missing water jets, whirlpools and other similar points. The view isn't great. Ultimately, the price is very high for what it offers.
