Arrival in Izmir / Pergamon

Pergamon Ancient City - Upon arriving in Izmir, meet the tour guide and travel to Pergamum. Explore the remarkable Acropolis, the ancient city itself, and view the Altar of Zeus, referred to as the ‘throne of Satan’, the Temple of Trajan, and the third-largest Library of antiquity. Continue to Asklepion, a renowned medical center of classical times, and also visit the Red Basilica (St. John’s Church).

Akhisar - Proceed to Thyatira, now known as Akhisar, to see the remains of a basilica and some architectural fragments from the Roman era.

Old Smyrna - On the return drive to Izmir, enjoy a panoramic tour of Smyrna, the third-largest city in Turkey and one of the sites of the Seven Churches of Asia, before checking in at the hotel.

Hierapolis, Sardis, Philadelphia, Laodicea

Sardis (Sardes) - Depart early in the morning for Sardis to see the great Temple, which later became a Byzantine Church. Visit the restored gymnasium and the Synagogue.

Hierapolis & Pamukkale - Continue to the healing city of Hierapolis, now Pamukkale, where hot mineral water flows from the earth, creating pools, channels, and stalactites. Visit the Martyrium of the Apostle Philip.

Laodicea - Travel to Laodicea to stroll through the ancient streets and view the historic structures.

Ephesus Ancient City, Virgin Mary’s House, St. Jean Basilica

Ancient City of Ephesus - Travel to Ephesus to explore the ancient city. Walk through history along marble streets lined with magnificent public buildings such as the Baths of Scholastica, the Library of Celsus, the Temple of Hadrian, and the Theatre.

Meryemana (The Virgin Mary’s House) - Visit the House of Virgin Mary, where she spent her final days and the assumption took place.

The Basilica of Saint John - Visit the Basilica of St. Jean and the Temple of Artemis, one of the seven wonders of the ancient world. After the tour, proceed to the hotel.

Departure Day

Izmir - After breakfast at the hotel, check out and, depending on flight time, transfer to the airport. End of service.
