Ghosted in Aix - Dear Viator community, I wanted to share feedback regarding my recent experience with the tour operator La Belle Echappée in Aix-en-Provence. Unfortunately, the guide never arrived at the designated meeting point and failed to respond to multiple attempts to reach them. I contacted them twice through the Viator app, followed by an email, a text, and a phone call to their direct business contacts. I received no reply to my email, and the text response I did receive—“Hello, thank you for giving us a message, we’re on a date”—felt particularly unprofessional. The voicemail message was entirely in French, which I couldn’t understand, leaving me further unsure of how to proceed. Thankfully, I was able to reach Viator’s customer service and speak with a helpful representative who also attempted to contact the operator. When they too received no response, they kindly arranged for a refund to be issued to my card, which I sincerely appreciate. That said, I am deeply disappointed to have missed out on what was meant to be a special and memorable experience during my short visit to Aix. Beyond the inconvenience, the lack of communication and disregard for our time—waiting over 30 minutes without a word—felt both frustrating and disrespectful. I hope this feedback will be helpful to others when evaluating buying this trip.
