Enjoyable visit - This was my second trip to Penang (George Town) this year. It is a small city but easy to navigate. I enjoyed the Penang Hill Funicular view and the visit to the Bio-Sphere on top. I was nice to be in nature instead to the concrete jungle in Bangkok. I have found the restaurants to be good quality and value. I recommend it highly.

Just a train ride - It's just a train that rides up and down, nothing out of the ordinary. Not something we can write a review about. There's the queueing process which is no different to anything else in the world, hence I don't see the need for this review 😕

Feniculat train ride - Always buy fast lane tkts to secure seats in weekends and Holidays. The train experience is amazing albeit a bit shorter

Great views from the top of the hill but go early - Busy even at 9.30am but the queue did move quickly. We decided to buy the ticket at the station rather than in advance as we wanted to see if the express ticket was needed. However you can't easily see the queue as it is behind the ticket hall, so we gambled in buying the much cheaper standard ticket as it was early. However I'd recommend buying an express ticket if you were planning to visit in the main part of the day as I can imagine you'd have to wait quite some time if not. The trip up doesn't take long, the carriage is crowded so you don't get see much on your way up but well worth it as the views from the top are wonderful.

Well worth the money - Arrived in Penang by cruise ship. Got a taxi from the port to Penang hill; approx £8 each way I purchased the fast pass so no queue for me... sat at the front had great views all the way up. Lots to see at the top , temple, market stalls. Cafe. The views were a little hazy on arrival but cleared out later. Absolutely stunning

Penang hill fenicular - Skip the line/express tickets are absolutely the best! It was super to get to the from of the queue and be first on the fenicular. Great seats and a super experience. It took a few minutes for the cashier to process the voucher then it was up up and away!!

Ok but not a huge amount to do - We took the Funicular up to Penang Hill. The fast pass people got on first and got all the seats so the other people with the non fast pass had to stand up where there was space so we had no view! Not a huge amount to do once you are at the top. We went on the habitat which isn’t huge. We done the canopy walk. Didn’t see a huge amount of wildlife but we could hear it. There are a few swings you can go on.

Couple of tips - We enjoyed the hill. Just a couple of tips. Buy the expensive express ticket. It's hard to judge how big the queue is when buying the tickets as you can't see it but it will probably be long and express tickets go to the front. Secondly, go to the Habitat, it's an extra cost but there are no crowds and it is very peaceful. We saw monkeys by the skywalk inside. I am not sure it is worth doing unless you got to the Habitat.

Speedy train ride up the hill - Unfortunately the day we went it was Smokey so we couldn’t see much of the view but what we could see was amazing, train ride up was overcrowded but the ride down was better

Stupid Hill with 2 hours waiting time. - Stupid Hill with almost 2 hours waiting time. Please please avoid. Management doesn’t know how to handle the people. If you have whole day to enjoy some scenery then only visit. By the time you reach up in furnicular you will be frustrated. Express lane is 80 Rm and normal lane is 30 RM. Didint mention clearly also how much wait time for each lane.
