Excellent experience - Great views of Penang. Taking a buggy was the perfect way for 2 oldies to get around. Our driver was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Highly recommended.

Wonderful - Suddenly my wife became sick at the upper station. We were given priority to board on the train. One of the staffs asked about the arrangements of an Ambulance. But we declined. It was full packed. One kind woman offred her seat. We found a lady staff ..Dolsia (sorry for the spelling mistake, if any)..was waiting for us with a wheelchair once we were at the lower station down. We were speechless. She pushed the wheelchair upto the car park. We were so happy that we offered her tips/service charge. She humbly declined. May Almighty bless the management specially Ms Dolsia

Penang hill funicular ride - The Penang hill funicular was a great experience as we get to see various flora and fauna. The top of the hill can be reached within 10 to 15 minutes and the view in the top is amazing. The panoramic view of the Penang city is worth it.

A must-do when in Penang - A great experience and definitely worth doing when visiting Penang. My biggest tip would be to buy the fast-track ticket — the queues can be very long, especially at weekends and during holidays, and it saved us a huge amount of time. For us, it was absolutely worth the extra cost. The views from the top are fantastic, and I’d recommend allowing a few hours to explore properly. There are lovely walking trails and plenty of wildlife to spot — we saw large squirrels, monkeys and lots of birds. We did the Langur Way Canopy Walk, which was brilliant and very immersive — it's high up and you really feel like you’re in the middle of the rainforest. We also did the Curtis Crest Treetop Walk, arguably the biggest attraction here and highest viewing platform on Penang Island. It offers unrivalled views of the heritage bungalows of Penang Hill and has information about the history of Penang Hill: why the hill station was built, its colonial past, and the old mansions that were used as holiday homes to escape the heat. Some of these buildings are still in use today as hotels and places to eat. It’s noticeably cooler up on the hill, which makes it even more enjoyable. Overall, I’d definitely recommend spending an afternoon here — we really enjoyed it.

Nice view - Short steep trip. Try to look towards direction of travel. Fast track lane could be useful in season

Worthwhile (depending on the weather) - The funicular railway is the quick and easy option to get to the top (otherwise its a 2km walk up!). Best to go early to avoid the crowds.

A must when in Penang - Great morning at Penang Hill. Was a sunny day however cloudy which was a bit disappointing. Amazing views and lots to do once you reach the top. Habitat Hill was fantastic also.

Visit to Penang Hill spoiled by dogs running free and fighting. - I spent half a day at Penang Hill. The Funicular ride up was fun and we enjoyed the walks once on The Hill. The views over Georgetown are great and the walk we did was well marked and very pretty. However our visit was spoiled by a pack of dogs running free and fighting. One dog jumped up at my husband while barking aggressively. We also saw this dog jumped up at a you g female tourist. This is frightening .

Mass tourism and especially commercial - Today we visited Penang Hill by train. It was pretty busy. Especially waiting downstairs. Once above huge crowds and especially very commercial. They want to take pictures of you for a fee. Within half an hour we went downstairs. What I recommend is to hike to number 6 yourself. Wonderfully quiet and beautiful nature.

Pure and simple tourist catcher - Pure and simple tourist catcher Very big disappointment in Penang Hill. Once at the top everything is thought only to make spend even more. Every “journey” is paid for, nothing is natural or authentic. No human warmth: no smile, no thank you, we just feel like a wallet on legs. The message is clear: pay if you want to see, otherwise go your way. Thanks Penang Hill... but no thanks.
