- Clan Jetty Heritage Home - The Clan Jetties form a residential neighborhood within George Town, Penang, Malaysia. Located in the city’s central business district, it consists of seven wooden villages along Weld Quay, each owned by a specific Chinese clan – Ong, Lim, Chew, Tan, Lee, Mixed Clan, and Yeoh jetties.
The Clan Jetties community developed gradually from the 1880s to the 1960s. Originally, nine clan villages were established, but post-independence developments reduced them to the current seven. After George Town was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2008, the Clan Jetties became a popular heritage tourism destination.

Street Art in George Town - George Town, the capital of Penang and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is the heart of Penang’s street art scene. This charming town is filled with artistic treasures on walls, alleys, and corners. Here are some must-visit spots:
Armenian Street is perhaps the most renowned location for Penang street art. As you stroll down this historic lane, you’ll find a variety of captivating murals and installations. Ernest Zacharevic’s iconic “Children on a Bicycle” and “Little Girl in Blue” are highlights, showcasing his talent for capturing childhood innocence. -
Reclining Buddha Wat Chaiyamangalaram - The “Sleeping Buddha” in Penang refers to Wat Chayamangkalaram, a renowned Thai Buddhist temple on Burma Road (Lorong Burma), famous for its massive, gold-plated reclining Buddha statue, symbolizing the Buddha’s entry into Nirvana. It is located directly opposite the Dharmikarama Burmese Temple and is a must-visit for its grandeur and spiritual significance.
This Thai temple is well-known for its 33-meter-long gold-plated reclining Buddha, making it one of the largest in the world. The temple was built in 1845 on five acres of land granted by Queen Victoria to the Thai community. The reclining Buddha represents the historical Buddha at his death, named Pra Buddhachaiya Mongkul, symbolizing complete peace and detachment from the world. Visitors are greeted by two statues at the temple entrance.
