Informative and fun - This was so fun and informative. We were able to try so many versions of soju and makgeolli. You can even purchase a bottle before you leave. Learned so much. Would recommend this tour when visiting.

Joe was amazing, we were... - Joe was amazing, we were able to try multiple different types of Soju and Makgeolli. He provide us with the history behind each of the drinks and the different types. I would recommend this class to anyone that is open to new flavors and want to have a true Korean experience.

Fun time - My wife and I had a fun evening with Joe Kim. Joe has spent years in many countries and has now lived in Korea for many years and is building up his own business. He is a craftsman an artist and a great communicator. We had a lot of fun and drank some of the most delicious drinks of our trip! Thanks Joe!

A MUST DO in SEOUL - If you’ve ever been interested in learning about Korean spirits, you must attend a class & tasting with Joe Kim at Baekusaeng Makgeolli. In just two hours, you learn about the history and process of Korean spirits while tasting incredible Makgeolli & Soju brands. You will leave with a much more discerning palette of what you like, and a deeper appreciation of the ‘spirit’ behind these traditional beverages. A must attend experience.

Joe was great. When the... - Joe was great. When the class started, we realized there was so much we didn’t know about Korean alcohol. We learned so much and Joe was great. I felt that after the class I was able to look at the Korean alcohol we usually have back home and compare to what we learned during our class.

Makgeolli & Soju wasted! - Very informative and great presentation! Joe is amazing with educating us about foundation of Korean alcohol. So many options and tastings it definitely did not disappoint! Very cute space in the market pretty easy to navigate all and all a five rating experience!

Opened our eyes to the world of good Korean drinks. - Great experience. Very friendly brewer and sommelier. Had a great time. Sojus were a real eye-opener. Makgeolli was a million times better than store-bought. So good.

Great way to learn about Korean drinks - Had a bloody great time at Joe's brewery & bar. We learnt about the history of alcohol in Korea, a rundown of how it is made. Of course we also got to taste many different styles of makgeolli, soju, and even fruit wine as Joe was a very generous host. It's a great little spot, and I highly recommend the tasting and learning experience for anyone interested in local and traditional drinks.

Excellent Makgeolli and Soju tasting class by Joe in Seoul Korea - An excellent experience (probably the best thing I have done in Seoul being a first timer in Korea). Joes is a great teacher, and he knows his Makgeolli and Soju. He speaks perfect English. My wife and friends learned so much about Makgeolli and Soju and can now tell the difference between good and not-so-good Makgeolli and Soju. My friend and I enjoyed the class so much that we went back the second day for his Makgeolli-making class that was another memorable experience! Highly recommended for anyone who wishes to learn more how to appreciate Makgeolli and Soju.
