- Gaziantep Castle - Originally constructed by the Hittite Empire as an observation point, Gaziantep Castle was later developed into a main fortress by the Roman Empire in the 2nd and 3rd centuries AD. Located on a hill in central Gaziantep, Turkey, it was expanded and renovated under Emperor Justinian between 527 and 565 AD. The circular castle spans 1200 meters in circumference, featuring stone walls and 12 towers. Renovated multiple times, it reached its current form in 2000. Today, it serves as the Gaziantep Defense and Heroism Panoramic Museum, showcasing a documentary about the city’s defense against French forces post-Ottoman Empire.
- Emine Gogus Mutfak Muzesi - This museum celebrates the renowned cuisine of Gaziantep and is situated in a historic house near the castle.
- Gaziantep Hamam Muzesi - A stunning example of Ottoman hammam culture and architecture, this site was built in 1577 by Lala Mustafa Pasha. Initially serving as a pasha hammam, it was restored and converted into a museum in 2015.
- Zeugma Mosaic Museum - Located in Gaziantep, this museum is significant for its art and ancient history. It houses priceless mosaics and is recognized as the world’s largest mosaic museum. The museum’s vastness attracts numerous international visitors annually. It also preserves artifacts from the Ancient City of Zeugma, a major archaeological find. The “Gypsy Girl” mosaic, discovered in 1998, is the museum’s most famous piece, noted for its braided hair and distinct cheekbones.
- Gaziantep Museum of Archaeology - This museum boasts a diverse collection of exhibits, both purchased and excavated. Gaziantep, continuously inhabited since the Lower Paleolithic Period, began its museum journey in 1944, with the Archaeology Museum opening in 1969 on Istasyon Caddesi. Due to space constraints from the growing collection of Zeugma mosaics and other artifacts, the mosaics were relocated to the Zeugma Mosaic Museum in 2011. The Gaziantep Museum of Archaeology was redesigned with modern exhibition spaces and reopened to the public on 18 May 2017.
