Great Hands-On exprience - What an entrepreneurial place! Whilst we did the Olive making tour (more of an event) they also do wine tasting, cheese making, honey and cooking, whilst there is also an e-tour. But we did the Olive Oil. Excellently presented and hands on crushing and pressing using historic mehanisms - even the children had a go, all the time with a running commentary and supervision. There is also a small but nice shop and after the event there is teh opportunity for a more comprehensive tour using their provided tablets. The demonstration lasted about one hour and cost €130 for two. The number of visitors per tour is limited to ensure all can take advantage of the hands-on. Afterwards we took a short walk down hill to town via the archeologica museum.

Do not miss out- this is THE olive farm to go to - I brought a group of women here to experience a day of Cretan magic. From the moment I inquired about booking, Tassos and his staff were very professional and accommodating. We did the olive pressing which was very informative and loads of fun. We then made goat cheese with a shepherd and even milked the goats. We learned a lot about the history and types of cheeses. Lastly, we had a cooking class and made yummy traditional dishes. All of our hosts were very knowledgeable, entertaining and spoke great English. The gift shop has wonderful items for purchase and to taste. It was definitely the highlight of our trip and I recommend it highly.
