- Hinglaj Mata Shakti Peeth - The Hinglaj Mata Temple is a renowned ‘shakti peetha’ dedicated to Goddess Sati. It is also referred to as ‘Hinglaj Devi’, ‘Hingula Devi’, and ‘Nani Mandir’. According to legend, Hinglaj Mata, also known as Nani Mandir, is a Hindu temple located in Hinglaj, a town on the Makran coast in the Lasbela district of Balochistan, and is considered a living miracle. The temple is situated within Hingol National Park, nestled in a mountain cave along the bank of the River Hingol. Visitors must travel by road on the main Karachi-Quetta Highway (RCD) to reach zero point, approximately 75 miles away. From there, the journey continues westward through Lyari town to Signal Fauji Camp stop, crossing the Aghore River. After a brief tea break, the journey proceeds along the Coastal Highway to the destination, which is about a 4-hour drive from Karachi, requiring an early start at 6 o’clock in the morning.

According to legend, Sati’s head, adorned with Hingul (Sindhoor, Vermillion), fell at this location on the hills, leading to its name, Hingul Parvat, and the Peeth being known as Shri Hinglaj Mata Asthan. This Peeth holds great significance as it is believed that Sati’s head fell here. It is said that Lord Rama, Sita, and Lakshman visited this Peeth during their exile.
The site features worship places for GANESH DEVA, MATA KALI, GURU GORAKH NATH DOONI, BRAHAM KUNDH, TIR KUNDH, MAHA KALI KUNDA, GURU NANAK KHARAO, RAM JAROKHA BETHAK, and ANEEL KUNDH on the Chorasi Mountain. Along the way, visitors can also find CHANDRA GOOP, KHARI RIVER, and AGHORI PUJA.
The construction of the Makran Coastal Highway in 2004 has made the valley more accessible, allowing travelers to visit the temple from Karachi and return on the same day.
