A Culinary Adventure Begins

As a family travel writer, I’m always on the lookout for experiences that can engage both adults and children alike. When I heard about the Moroccan Cuisine & Camel Ride Adventure, I knew it was something I had to try. The promise of learning to cook authentic Moroccan cuisine and a camel ride through the scenic landscapes of Agadir was too tempting to resist.

Our adventure began with a punctual pick-up from our hotel, a detail that always sets a positive tone for the day. We were whisked away to the bustling markets of Bensergao, a place that felt refreshingly local and authentic. As we wandered through the vibrant stalls, selecting fresh vegetables for our cooking class, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of excitement. The market was a sensory delight, filled with the rich aromas of spices and the vibrant colors of fresh produce. It was a perfect introduction to the culinary journey that awaited us.

Cooking Up Memories

Upon arriving at the Artisan Centre, we were greeted with warm smiles and a refreshing hand wash, a thoughtful touch that set the stage for our cooking class. Our guide, Imrahm, was a fountain of knowledge and enthusiasm, guiding us through the process of preparing a traditional Moroccan tagine. We chose chicken as our protein, and with Imrahm’s patient instruction, even my novice cooking skills were put to good use.

The cooking class was a delightful experience, as we chopped, seasoned, and assembled our tagines. The process was both educational and fun, with Imrahm sharing stories and tips that brought the recipes to life. As our tagines simmered, filling the air with mouthwatering aromas, we took a moment to savor the anticipation of tasting our creations.

Riding Through Agadir’s Beauty

While our tagines cooked, we embarked on the camel ride portion of our adventure. Riding through the Berber villages and eucalyptus forests was a serene experience, offering a unique perspective of Agadir’s natural beauty. Returning to the Artisan Centre, we were greeted by the tantalizing scent of our cooked tagines. As we made our way back to the hotel, Imrahm surprised us with a detour to a local mosque for some photos and a visit to the Argon centre, where we learned about the versatile uses of argan oil. It was the perfect end to a day filled with discovery and delight, leaving us with memories that will last a lifetime.
