Amazing tour of South Australia and learning about the wildlife. Wildlife sanctuary was the highlight. - IMPORTANT: PLEASE CHECK THE WEATHER AND BRING AN APPROPRIATE JACKET. IT CAN BE WINDY AND COLD. We had an amazing and funny tour guide. I'm sorry I forgot his name but his son in law surfs at the dangerous part of the island. I hope the tour company recognizes who I'm talking about. Even before we got to the kangaroo Island, the drive from Adelaide to the port where we boarded our ferry took 2hrs and was the best part of my whole Australia trip. I spotted so many Kangaroos on the highway and sometimes a wild emu too. The kangaroo Island itself offers a chance to encounter sea lions, Wallabies, kangaroos and koalas. Feeding kangaroos, holding koala, seeing wallabies was the highlight of this trip. If you visit the island during autumn season in Australia, bring a jacket because I experienced the strongest winds on planet earth near the sea lion beach and the lighthouse. It gets really cold really fast to the point where the strong cold winds near the beach freeze your ears.

Great Experience in Kangaroo Island - We booked with Viator for the Kangaroo Island full day tour during Easter Break 2025. This tour was done by SeaLink in Adelaide and Kangaroo Island. The tour mentioned a free pickup service from Adelaide CBD hotels. The tour departs from Central Bus Station at 6:45am, but when I called to arrange for a pickup from my hotel at Hindley St in CBD (10mins walk to Central Bus Station), the SeaLink operator said they would pick up at 6:05am. I declined as I could start from the hotel at 6:30am and still reach 5mins before departure. Later I heard from the bus driver that pickup from my hotel is normally scheduled for 6:30am, so no idea why I was told 6:05am. Apart from this initial irritant, the trip was great. TBH, most of the trip involved being driven around in a bus or ferry. First from Adelaide to Cape Jarvis (1.5 hrs), then in the ferry for 45mins, we reached kangaroo island around 10am. From there, we were driven to Seal Bay Conservation Park, with an awesome close encounter with seals, lazing around in the beach, some times passing close by us. We spent 30 mins there, felt good enough duration, maybe another 15 mins would have been bit nicer. From there, we were taken for pre-arranged lunch to a restaurant (they cater to dietary restrictions for vegans and vegetarians). Lunch was chicken salad and a cheese cake, was awesome and just-enough portion. It was an hour’s break. After that, we went to Remarkable Rocks, after another 45mins drive. Unfortunately, it was raining on and off the entire day, in-spite of that it was brilliant to see the rocks up close and take some pictures. Felt like a jaw of dragon from the house of dragon! From there we went to Admirals Arch, 10 mins drive. It was beautiful, the arch and the scenery, nature at its best! Man, it’s was windy, couple of times I felt that I was being blown away and that’s not easy to do to a 90kg human! After that, 45 mins drive to SA wildlife sanctuary park where we met up with SA wildlife - Kangaroo feeding, small penguins swimming around and Koala Patting with around 45 mins activity. With that, it was time to return. In reality, 4 main places to see on the island for all this travel. Some people stayed overnight in the island for a 2days-1night trip, which was not a bad idea as well. It is a great experience to do this trip with SeaLink operator, absolutely professionals and great people,. Everything planned to perfection and on-time. Special thanks to our Kangaroo Island bus driver cum tour guide, Will, he was fabulous - full of knowledge, always smiling and always willing to accommodate small requests from the group. Shout out to Steven and Dave who drove us from Adelaide to Cape Jarvis and back! Great trip and definitely recommended for families who has limited time and want to include a trip to Kangaroo Island while visiting Adelaide.

Kangaroo Island amazement - It was a very well organised tour logistically. We got to see amazing wildlife at Seal Bay and admiring the stunning rocks formation at Admirals Arch and encountering the adorable koalas, kangaroos… the whole experience was long yet well worthwhile with special shout out to Will, our tour guide/driver/ wildlife educator… his true calm, collected layback manner made the long trip so enjoyable. Thanks Will & Sealinks.

Fast packed day! - Our tour guide Jo was fantastic! She managed the bus and the tour with humor and ease. It did seem like we were back and forth a bit and i wonder if there was a better route without so much back and forth. Lunch was good and seeing the sights obviously the highlights. I felt quite rushed at the wildlife sanctuary, as they didn’t even wait for people who had to use the toilet. I understand they stayed open for us, but I didn’t have time to even buy a drink. I think in retrospect, I may have changed my itinerary to avoid such a long rushed day and spent a day in the island. But for those who only have the day, there was a lot packed in and Jo made it fun!

Day on the island - Was a long day with early start and late drop off visits to all the sights were good and adequate time allowed lunch was very nice my only down point was lack of places to get alternative food with lunch being only food on offer catered for dietary requirements but ferry had limited options overall good trip but take some alternative snacks

We enjoyed our Kangaroo... - We enjoyed our Kangaroo Island trip up until we reached the Kangaroo /Koala experience. Our bus driver Joanna was great, very informative, friendly etc. and had let us know the Kangaroo park had stayed open just for our tour, When we arrived to the Kangaroo Park “Darcy” who was to be our guide was quite rude making sure to let us know we had 20 minutes to see the kangaroos and koalas, that she “was tired and wanted to go home”, and making comments that she “wasn’t going to give us a lot of information because she knew we didn’t care anyway.” I understand there’s a lot packed into one day, but Darcy - it’s the people on the tours who are paying for you to stay a few minutes late, spending money in the gift shop. If your company doesn’t like having to stay for tour groups I suggest you take yourself off the list. This was an awesome day until we encountered Darcy who needs an attitude adjustment or choose a new career path. Again the rest of the day was great, loved seeing the seals, remarkable rocks and the lunch provided was delicious and our guide / bus driver Joanna was the best.

Great sights, but always had to buy water and food. - Be prepared to bring or buy water and bring food for the entire day. Offered warm water once from the bus driver. The included lunch was a piece of chicken with vegetables. No dinner. Bought food at the IGA at the end of the day before getting back on the ferry. The sights were great and the driver is well informed.
