We knew it would be a... - We knew it would be a long day, but well worth it. Mel was a wonderful guide , and gave us a lot of interesting information on the coach. The stop at Edith Falls for a fabulous swim was great, then of course the gorge was spectacular. We stopped off at a good outback pub for dinner on the way back, so with all the breaks, it was a comfortable trip . Would recommend this trip

Breathtaking Katherine Gorge. A must to see. - This trip is a must. What a terrific experience . A very long day; 6am -9pm but worth every minute to see the spectacular Katherine Gorge. Our AAT coach driver was friendly, knowledgeable and professional. The coach was modern and comfortable. The day started with a stop at Adelaide River General Store for a coffee, then on to the Adelaide War Memorial Cemetery which is a beautiful memorial to the lives lost during the Bombing of Darwin. From here we visited the beautiful Edith Falls before travelling on to Katherine. The highlight of the day was the boat trip through Katherine Gorge which was absolutely spectacular. Buffet lunch at the Nitmiluk Tourist Information Centre was lovely. A stop at Adelaide River Hotel for dinner on the way home topped off the day. A great experience which I highly recommend.

Katherine Gorge Day tour - Long day but well worth it. 6am pick up and home drop off 9pm. Plenty of water supplied by bus and Katherine Gorge tour but bring your own bottle to refill. Buy your own m/tea at Adelaide River, buffet lunch supplied, and buy your own dinner on way home at Adelaide River Inn. Our bus driver/tour guide "TJay" was awesome. Our Katherine Gorge tour guide Jamie was awesome too. Swim at Edith Falls was great and refreshing.

Not what I expected - The bus was 15 minutes late. We waited at the bus stop at 6am because we were told we had to be there 10 minutes before pickup at 6.30am. The bus ride to the area was quite long so stopping at the Adelaide River to purchase some snacks was great. The cruise along the gorge was breathtaking and very educational. Holly the tour guide was excellent in providing a lot of information on the various sites. However, the stops on the way back could be reconsidered. We stopped at the Art Gallery and had lunch there which was nice. The ride to the Edith Gorge was quite long and to be honest, there was not much to see and not a great place to go for a swim. There were areas along the Katherine Gorge where people could swim if they want to (saw some swimming there on the day). I think the Edith Gorge should be left out of this tour completely or be a brief stop on the way over. After the Edith Falls, we stopped at the Adelaide River again for a few minutes before heading back to town. By the time we got back it was after 7.30pm. It cost us close to $700 and we spent most of the tour on the bus. I think one stop on the way over and one long stop or two short stops on the way back would be better reducing the tour to maybe half a day rather than a full day and at a less price.

Great Experiences, but juice might not be worth the squeeze - High quality tour - coach bus, cruise is excellent, very quick swim in the falls. The tour guide was also excellent. However, you should ask yourself if 2.5 hours of content (cruise and swim) is worth a 14 hour day. I wish we just rented a car and drove to the Katherine area for a couple nights so we could hike and see more.

A great trip though rushed with too many stops. - Katherine Gorge was amazing. Our guide Kunch was great. Pick-up 6.05 left Darwin 6.50 so time at Edith Falls was rushed.
