Genet was amazing and very knowledgeable. Our large group consisted of 7 kids including my own 2. We loved the tour and the food was delicious!! Absolutely will( and already have) recommended this to other traveling families!

We joined the Food Tour during our recent visit to Addis Ababa/Ethiopia. It was a really interesting and enjoyable experience involving 5 separate dining 'experiences' at local restaurants (we were the only tourists at all of them which was nice) all of which were quite different and great fun. The highlights were raw meat cubes at a local beef restaurant which was excellent and a really wonderful coffee ceremony to round off the tour at a little, local restaurant with the usual delicious home roasted Ethiopian coffee. All in all, highly recommended with a really helpful and knowledgeable guide.

Our guide, Gennet, gave us invaluable insight into the everyday life of Addis Ababa. Prior to meeting with her, we had been overwhelmed by the poverty and begging we saw in much of the city. Gennet showed us how the middle class lives and eats. In particular, she spent extra time with us at a local jebena buna bet, where we photographed the coffee ceremony for our book on worldwide coffee experiences.
