The history of this church is linked to St. Lalibela, who, upon visiting the sacred mountain of Ziquala in the 12th century, constructed the church in honor of St. Mary. Next, we will head to UNESCO-registered sites, among the most significant of the approximately 160 archaeological sites discovered so far in the Soddo region, south of Addis Ababa. This site features 36 monuments, including 32 carved stelae adorned with symbols, most of which are challenging to interpret. These stelae are remnants of an ancient Ethiopian culture whose exact age remains undetermined.
