Well planned and easy way to find group - We had an unforgettable 3-day adventure to Dallol and Erta Ale with Danakil Depression Tours. From the very beginning, everything was handled professionally and efficiently. Our tour operator, Mickey, was incredibly responsive—always quick to reply and very helpful in organizing every detail of the trip.
Our guide, Yohanse, was excellent throughout the journey. He was knowledgeable, friendly, and made sure we felt safe and comfortable in such an extreme environment. His experience really added value to the whole trip.
The itinerary was well-planned, allowing us to fully enjoy the surreal landscapes of Dallol and the incredible experience of visiting the Erta Ale volcano. The team on the ground was organized and supportive at every step.
We also noticed that the company runs tours almost every day, which shows how reliable and established they are. Everything went smoothly from start to finish, and we highly recommend Danakil Depression Tours to anyone looking for a well-organized and memorable experience in Ethiopia.

wonderful experience - It was a wonderful experience travelling with Danakil Depression tours to Ethiopia.We went for a 3 days trip. The itinerary was good. They managed to show us the most attractive places in Ethiopia They also shared valuable informations and advices related to food, places and Culture. I want to say a special thanks to the Trip coordinator Mickey He has done a remarkable job. He met every expectation. From gathering everyone in the airport till saying goodbye to everyone he has done a real hard work. He always keeps speaking to everyone making a good relationship between all the members in the group. Even when we had low times he cheered us to enjoy every moment. Personally I had an experience when I forgot my wallet on the hotel he coordinated everything to get the wallet back to me safely. He always had a cheerful face. I would definitely travel with Alex and team again. Thank you for this wonderful memory.

Well organized and fantastic guide - I had a wonderful experience traveling to the Dallol and Erta ale with Danakil Depression Tours. The entire trip was very well planned, smooth, and hassle-free. From accommodation to transport and sightseeing, everything was handled professionally, which allowed us to truly enjoy the beauty of the islands without any stress.
A special mention to our guide yohannes , who made the trip even more memorable. He was extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and always ready to help. He explained the culture and importance of places like the afar in a very engaging way and ensured that everyone in the group was comfortable and enjoying the tour.
The itinerary covered all the major highlights including the stunning landscape of danakol, exciting water activities like swimming and walking through lake assale ,

Fabulous time with Mickey and his team - recently traveled to Addis ,3days Danakil with the Danakil depression Tours team, and it was a truly memorable experience. Delhi impressed me with its vibrant blend of history and modern life, while Danakil timeless gondar left me in awe. Bahir dar with its colorful culture and majestic forts, was the perfect finale to the journey.
I want to express my heartfelt appreciation to our instructor and team leader, Mickey whose dedication, patience, and excellent leadership made the entire trip smooth, enjoyable, and well-coordinated. His guidance added immense value to every moment of the tour.
My sincere thanks also go to Danakil depression Tours for their outstanding programming and travel coordination. The arrangements were thoughtful, seamless, and truly elevated the whole experience.

Amazing team and wonderful service - This is my first travel with Danakil Depression Tours Needless to say it was truly wonderful experience. The food, accommodation and travel were excellent.
Our tour Manager Mr Mickey made himself available to us we could freely approach him when need arose.
Mr Melaku made the trip even more memorable with his exceptional skill in explaining the past and present of Addis Ababa bringing the city close to us through his words.
Wishing many more travels with Danakil, hopefully with the same co-ordinaters and the same amazing team.

Excellent Communication - they are very organized and in constant communication with you. It’s frustrating to book with an operator that you don’t hear from at all or until the last minute; not Denakil Depression Travel. I used them for Lalibela as well and had a similar excellent experience.
For the volcano tour- you will get dirty and miss 1-2 nights of showers. Bring a dust mask or bandana and perhaps some wipes to clean with.

Fun time at Danakil :D - Went alone. Had fun, met the locals and other tourists, and got to see danakil. Really nice experience overall. Probably bring a mask or face covering just in case. When i went, volcano had erupted and there was ashes everywhere. Also sulfur smell. Sadly, since volcano erupted when i visited, there wasnt a lava river, but of course, the crater I saw was brand new. Mother nature gives and takes

With everything ! The 4x4 vehicle was comfortable and with AC very nice! The food was good ! The places I don’t know even need to talk about, AMAZING! And the most important: GUIDE Aman , and all the DRIVERS and. chef , THEY WERE SO ADORABLE AND NICE !

An incredible 8 day Ethiopia itinerary - highly recommended! - Truly incredible! Mickey was amazing at planning our 8 days in the country and his communication and ability to adapt the plan was brilliant. I arrived with an illness I picked up in my home country and he instantly adapted our plan to let me rest for a day. He still ensured we got to see everything we had wanted to. We were so well looked after from day 1 to day 8.
I asked for a tailor made plan for the 8 days, fitting in Gondar, Bahir Dar, Addis Ababa and Danakil Depression and Mickey organised it with precision. All local guides were great and had amazing knowledge of the area, country and best places to visit. Everyone we dealt with was so professional and friendly!
I highly recommend contacting Mickey to organise your trip to Ethiopia, my friend and I agreed it was the best holiday we’ve been on in so long! I will definitely be returning to Ethiopia and asking Mickey to plan the next trip!

Unforgettable experience in the Danakil Depression - I had an amazing experience with Danakil Depression Tours. Our guide Jonas was fantastic, kind, funny and very knowledgeable. Mikey, the manager, is such a great person; he even offered me lunch and took me for a small tour the day before departure, which made me feel very welcome.
The tour was well organized and not too tiring. Most of the time we travelled by car with short walks and excursions of about one or two hours. The landscapes were absolutely unique, with salt lakes, volcanic craters, colorful formations and endless desert views that felt like another planet.
The food was very good, mostly pasta, vegetables and meat, so it’s something anyone can eat without any problem. At first I was a bit worried about the food, but it turned out to be great and well prepared.
Everything was perfectly arranged, the team was professional and caring, and I always felt safe and comfortable. I truly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to discover one of the most fascinating and surreal places on Earth.
