Incredible Cultural Experience with Kofi — Safe, Educational, and Truly Special - My two cousins and I booked a full-day cultural tour with Bigbentours and it was easily one of the highlights of our time in Ghana. We traveled from Accra to the Ashanti region (about a 4.5-hour drive each way), and from start to finish the experience was outstanding. Our guide, Kofi, arrived right on time to pick us up from our hotel and made us feel welcome, safe, and comfortable throughout the entire journey. It’s a long trip, but he made it smooth and enjoyable with his knowledge, professionalism, and warm personality. During the tour we visited a kente cloth weaving factory, a cocoa farm, and learned about Adinkra symbols — including choosing and imprinting our own symbols onto a stole, which was an amazing hands-on cultural experience. We had everything explained to us clearly and we understood the deeper meaning behind what we were seeing and doing. The ultimate highlight was participating in a traditional naming day ceremony — and I did it on my birthday, which made it even more special. Kofi went above and beyond by helping capture the moment — taking photos and videos for us so we could fully be present and still have beautiful memories saved. He stayed with us every step of the way, made sure we had everything we needed, and shared so much valuable information about Ghanaian culture throughout the trip. I’m incredibly grateful we booked this experience and that Kofi was our guide. It was meaningful, educational, smooth, and honestly just a really dope experience. Highly, highly recommended.

A perfect homecoming experience - The two day Kumasi tour was a wonderful experience from start to finish. Ben did an excellent job communicating during planning and when landing. Elisha was the perfect tour guide, very knowledgeable, professional, and kind. The tours were deeply meaningful. Will recommend Big Ben to my family and friends and anyone looking for a reliable guide!

Look no further- these guys are the BEST! - Without hesitation I highly recommend Bigbentours1gh. For future trips to Ghana I’ll be booking them exclusively if they’re available. Not only do Ben and driver Samuel have extensive expertise about the area, and which roads to take and which to avoid, but their people skills are to be commended. My traveling buddy can be a bit of challenge, but their good humor and diplomacy saved the day and kept things pleasant. If I could give them more than 5 stars I would!

Big Ben Tours A Must! - We were with Ben (aka Kofi because he was born on a Friday) for two full days! We booked the Kumasi tour. We enjoyed the Kumasi Village and Naming ceremony so much we booked with Ben to visit the Assin Manson Slave River Site where the slaves were given their last bath before heading to the Castles. We then went straight to Elmina and Cape Coast Castles. For both tours Ben never missed a beat and was very accommodating as far as becoming our personal photographer and tending to anything else we needed! He is also very well versed on the history of Ghana and was able to answer any questions that we had. Will definitely use Ben the next time we return. Thanks Ben for making our stay in Ghana a memorable one!!!

Getting back to my roots - Great experience to learn about the Adinka symbols, their meaning and inking. For a mother and two daughters to experience the naming ceremony together was spiritual, welcoming and priceless. The only downside to this experience was the travels to and from the activities. The roads are underdeveloped pending construction completion in 2027. If you suffer from motion sickness, I do not advise this 9+ hr round trip journey.
