About Historical Hollywood Tour
Along an unassuming half-mile stretch of Sunset Boulevard–where high-rises are headstones for long-gone landmarks–Hollywood’s birthplace is brought back to life during this enchanting 90-minute walking tour. Journey through decades to the nucleus of classic Hollywood, where it all began. Your guide knows the rich history behind every inch and icon of this famous strip and he’ll uncover the origins of major film studios, radio and television networks, and record companies from the 1910s through today. This fascinating black-and-white world transforms into Technicolor through vintage photographs, gossip, and anecdotes as you tread the hallowed grounds of Tinseltown’s trailblazers. Whether you’re fresh off the plane or have driven these streets for years, you’ll never see Hollywood the same way again.
We were so excited to join Philip on his walking tour of Old Hollywood. It was a mile walk easily managed by most folks. It's amazing to see how most of the old studios got their start so close together. I am an Old Hollywood buff and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Philip takes time to explain the sites and has a scrapbook containing photos so you can see how things were at the turn of the last century compared to today. I think even the locals would enjoy this different view of Hollywood.
