An exceptional and rare chance to reconnect and reunite with one’s culture, heritage, and ancestry. Participants will receive a traditional African name and experience village life, including activities like clay pottery making and traditional cultural performances that will warmly welcome them into the community.
This experience is exclusively for descendants, as it is a sacred journey focused on healing and reconnection. Non-descendants may participate only if they are a spouse or Black family member of a participant. It is an uplifting journey that allows participants to witness how Africans once lived as kings and queens in their homelands before being taken to the Cape Coast dungeons and transported to the “New World.”
It is recommended to bring some cash for purchasing beautiful African beads as gifts and for making donations to support and uplift the community’s efforts. Wearing white, a color symbolizing the celebration of new life, is encouraged, though comfortable attire of choice is also acceptable.
