Acatenango Volcano

Acatenango Volcano Adventure - Guests will be picked up from their hotel at 9:30 am, so please be prepared. The journey will begin with a drive to the office for a briefing on how the experience will unfold. At this point, participants will receive a jacket, gloves, and a hat to protect themselves from the wind and warm weather. Finally, the group will depart for Acatenango Volcano, arriving at the starting point for the climb with a 4x4 vehicle.

Climbing the Acatenango Volcano in a 4x4 offers a breathtaking experience, transforming one of Central America’s most challenging hikes into an accessible, adrenaline-pumping adventure. It’s perfect for those who want to enjoy spectacular views with minimal physical exertion. The vehicles ascend to an elevation of approximately 3,400 meters above sea level after about 45-50 minutes of off-road driving. Upon reaching the top, there’s only a short 45-60 minute walk along relatively flat trails to arrive at the base camps. The best time to visit is from November to April (dry season) to ensure clear skies and full visibility of the crater.
